The reception area stank of weed and febreeze on arrival. Went up to our room, the one double bed base was caved in and there was a false finger nail and a haribo sweet under there. There were brown stains on the carpet, there was what looked like blood on the curtain. Im retty sure the bedding hadnt been changed as there was hair on the pillow cases. my 12 year old daughter ended up sleeping in her clothes as she said her bed was dirty an smelt funny?... the bathroom was absolutely filthy, looked like pooh or sick splatters up the wall by the toilet. The shower was boiling hot then freezing and also leaked all over the floor. All in all an awful place to stay.

Nothing. I was unable to stay. The Man running it came when I called. He was personable but in a rush as eating his dinner in bar 46. Fair enough I was 20 mins early.

The property is staged on booking.com.you are greeted by a dirty net curtain on the front window. I walked in and the hallway is grubby, the pics must be really old. The room which would be the dining room as you enter the property had soiled mattresses piled in it. The room we booked was a family room. Size ok. But bedding poor. Dirty bed base stacked outside it. The windows were wide open, which I can only assume because one had no window catch at all so would not be able to close. The room was on the front of the building and i was told it would be noisy from bar 46. Bathroom decent size, I didn't try it out. I didn't feel safe staying as it looked like some of the door surrounds had been replaced which is usually if a door has been ki cked in. It is not being run as a b& b , just sub standard rooms to rent. I have since found out this is not an area you would want to be in. I believe it trades on the distance from the beach. I did not stay un the property so wasted 400.00. I had kept the key and when I returned to give it back, I looked in the room again, there was a used towel on the radiator. I have learnt a lesson and will use trip advisor next time. Please read recent reviews. Perhaps in the past it had different owners and may have been better. I stayed in a family suite at a hotel which was luxurious with a sea view and had a fantastic breakfast for 125 per night. 100.00 per night for sunnymead is disgusting. Please do an inspection as people are being ripped off.

I left early prior to Breakfast, so cannot comment on that. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and pleasantly decorated.

The room is quite cold (I think the window needs to be double-glazed and is not) . There was no loo roll in the toilet.

Sunnymead is well located in Bridge Street. The bed was comfy.

There was difficulty getting hold of the owner for any form of check in or check out. There were obvious signs of mould in the en-suite bathroom. The shower very nearly over flowed after a very short shower

It was in a good location for us. The bed was comfortable. The TV was good. The shower water was good.

Access was a bit difficult. There was no answer from the number posted on the front door to call. It was an hour or so before we had a response. Apparently the phone had been off. What's the point of advertising a number to call and not having the phone on? The room and bathroom were rather 'tired'. The drain on the shower was obviously blocked, the water drained very slowly, it needs clearing. There was quite a bit of noise during the night. I was awakened three times; 2.15am, 3.45am and 5.57am, by people making lots of noise banging and clattering through the building. Most unfortunate and not helpful to a good night's sleep.

The location was good

No staff there at all. Floor in the room was dirty, peeling paint and damp, no bath mat for when you got out of the shower, no hand towels just two odd towels, no teaspoon to make tea/coffee, broken door handle in the bathroom and the wardrobe, only one tiny mirror in the bathroom. Not a place we would visit again.

A friendly cleaner needs to be employed who cares about guests. This place is very sadly an embarrassment to Aberystwyth

Stayed here many years ago when it was a well looked after home of an older couple who provided breakfast and cared about their industry, very sad to see how it has changed. Front door is open for anyone to come in and out, nobody to greet you, just an untidy space. Owner was located asleep, given key and the welcome was over. Room had clearly not been cleaned, bed had been slept in and towel used. Had to ask for another towel as there were two of us and one couldn't be found, eventually given a damp used one from another room. It has now become a place for people to stay on a night out so the next room had far too many people in it who were making a noise all through the night. The fire system was turned off which is illegal.
