"Warm ,friendly good food and nothing was too much trouble"

The owner Linda was very friendly and welcoming , her breakfasts were extremely tasty my husband had cooked breakfast with all the meat from the local butcher down the road in Ruswarp. I had porridge which was cooked freshly and was delicious. Along side this were a good selection of cereals and fresh berries , yoghurts, granola and seeds. There is also a fresh fruit bowl in the dining room accessible to guest throughout the stay,along with a fridge full of bottled water and supplies of fresh milk for the guests hot drinks. We had the superior room and I can say it’s very very comfortable, it usually takes me a few nights to get comfortable in a strange bed but I slept very well from the first night. The whole B&B was exceptionally clean, well appointed, decorated and maintained well . I particularly liked the coffee bags in the room, along with local biscuits these were refreshed daily. Thank you for a lovely stay Linda , we will be back !

"Exceptional"

Was made to feel welcome. And was very clean. Breakfast was amazing. There is a small walk to whitby easy to navigate takes about 15 mins. Parking ment alot to us as we didn't want to use the car. Plenty of parking room on site. Water and milk was available in small fridge in the dinning room. Our stay at the coal merchants was brilliant and we will stay there again.

"Lovely bank holiday weekend"

Nice clean room and facilities, lovely breakfast, excellent host. Far enough from the centre of Whitby to be quiet, but not too far for a walk into the town for sightseeing or an evening meal.

There was nothing we didn't like. The room we stayed in on small side although that wasn't a problem. There is a shortage of hanging space, but we only stayed two night's so it wasn't a problem
