North Sands Lodge

Fantastic communication from Marianne from booking all the way through to arriving at the property. Room was perfect for what I needed. Very comfortable and had everything required for a great 1-night stay. And incredibly reasonably priced compared to other properties in the area. Would definitely recommend.

We booked Notth Sands specially due to its super location (10 mins walk) to the Open Air Music Arena. Its location for the arena is spot on! We also took the opportunity to walk into town (15mins) and then walk around the amazing sea wall. Scarborough is a super place and wonderful for those who love coastline and beaches!

I really don’t wish to be negative because for the money we spent and the reason we went to Scarborough, the lodge was really really good. It was extremely clean. On first impressions, from the roadway, it looks sad. On entrance and walking through the stairways the carpets are very dark. overall too much clutter and “stuff” which doesn’t make the entrance feel very fresh. The lodge really requires “stripping back” of all the items and and stuff that makes it feel old. Brand new simple and plain carpets throughout would be transformative. Our room, small but perfectly formed, needed a new and secure front door & lock, carpets, mattress and better quality bedding. The bedding was scratchy. Again, completely clean but just everything requires more quality consideration. The shower was tiny which was absolutely fine but would be so much better as a “wet room” without the old carpet. The bed mattress was very very soft and collapsed that you could visually see where previous guest had made a their dent in the soft springs. Again though, we really must highlight how clean everything was in the room.

Lovely friendly host who did everything she could to accommodate my wobbly knee 😁 gave us the lowest room to help. The room was bright clean and comfy. Very clean ensuite. Couldn't have got any closer to the open air theatre !

The property was in a great location, very clean and maintained. Room was great had everything you needed, bed very comfortable, would definitely book again. The owner was very friendly and helpful.
