Old Town Traditional Residence

Very cozy, one of the oldest Turkish buildings in Kavála which remain untouched. Thanks to Sofia& her husband for warm atmosphere

Beds would be more comfy

The view over Old Town to the ocean is spectacular. Good air conditioning. There is a kitchen so you can cook for yourself. Sofia and Thanos were very helpful and welcoming.

Bathroom is a little cramped.

The place is in the centre of the old town. It is feet away from the beach, but also so close to the fortress of the city. Around you can enjoy a lot of places like bars, restaurants and shops. There is a very cheap parking nearby where you can park your car.

I had an amazing experience staying at Old Town Traditional Residence! During our stay, my partner and I unfortunately got food poisoning, and the host went above and beyond to help us. Sofia quickly called a taxi to take us to the hospital and kindly provided us with bananas and water when we were too weak to get food ourselves. The room was clean, and the overall service was exceptional. I highly recommend this place for its outstanding hospitality and care!

The toilet flush is broken. When we flush, the water does not stop flowing. It needs to be stopped manually from inside the tank.

I saw insect at the hotel room.

The room was very clean and the decoration is beautiful. The bathroom is extraordinary, with a giant rock in place. Sofia and Thanos are the best hosts! Beautiful, polite and very helpful people, will do anything to have the best experience of their property and your stay in Kavala. Love them both! The room and the traditional house is 3' walking from the castle of Kavala and max 5' walking from other old town attractions.

Unfortunately the local authorities allow parking in the old town, only for the local citizens and if you have a car you have to park it on the port.

Excellent location in the upper part of the city. It was a bit of a hike to get there with my luggage but the view and proximity to historic sites nearby made it worth it. Super accommodating hosts and wonderful facilities. Use of a shared kitchen with a kettle and mini fridge in the room itself. I needed laundry done and the hosts were able to wash and dry my clothes for me by the next afternoon. I stayed in the room “Aphrodite” with an external private bathroom. I didn’t mind, but that arrangement might not be for everyone.

I could not figure out if there was a light in the bathroom for the Aphrodite room so I never went in there after dark.
