Very welcoming owners, nice big room, bathroom was a bit small but functional and clean. Lovely breakfasts. A nice touch was a glass of wine or beer as we arrived. Free WiFi. Would definitely recommend.

Outstanding quality and cleanliness with plentiful supplies of ingredients for hot drinks. Bathroom was small but the walk-in shower made up for this rather than a simple “box shower”. Breakfast was served fabulously by the hosts Liz & Douglas. Their warm welcome and friendliness continued throughout my memorable two night stay. The quality of all the furnishings including, the very comfortable bed, is very high and on a par with high end hotels I've been lucky enough to stay in my working years. Liz & Douglas are truly the perfect hosts in their top notch Inverlea Guest House which I wouldn’t hesitate to book again in the future. Thank you Liz & Douglas and your lovely assistant (Sorry I don't remember her name)

It was a beautiful sandstone property that was full of period features. The Room was very spacious and comfortable with a nice en-suite shower room, which had a nice selection of toiletries, which was unexpected in a guesthouse. The breakfast this morning was fantastic with fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereals on offer before a full cooked Scottish breakfast.

There is nothing I didn’t like about this Guesthouse.

My stay felt like coming to stay with family. I was welcomed with incredible warmth, friendliness and care, a little card to say hello was waiting for me in my room alongside tea, biscuits and other lovely little things. You can really tell that Liz cares about her guests' experience. Lovely (and abundant!) breakfast.

This guest house is worth not 10 stars , it's worth 100 stars . Everything - just perfect.

A wonderful place to stay. Lovely friendly hosts who were really helpful with great suggestions of places to eat and local shops etc. The room was wonderful with lots of lovely extras. Breakfast was delicious. The location was great for the Races, restaurants and a walk to the beach. A quiet area with lots of parking. We loved our stay.

Douglas and Liz were incredibly welcoming. The breakfast was beautifully served and very tasty.

Absolutely everything about the stay at Inverlea was fabulous, from start to finish. The hosts are so wonderful, welcoming and run their beautiful guest house with such great care, passion - relaxed but at the same time with high and exacting standards. Everything about the facilities was perfect, fluffy towels, sumptuous linen on the beds, the room we stayed in was organised beautifully, and the spec was opulent with tasteful decor - just as it is in the photos, in fact better. No expense has been spared, small details made everything so easy to get unpacked and relaxed, and the interior throughout is so comfortable and you feel completely at home, albeit a 'spotlessly clean with everything you need provided' home, lovely thick carpets, and antiques throughout. Liz and Douglas were extremely thoughtful, and so accommodating with our early leaving one of the mornings. Breakfast - 10/10!! Just when you think it cant get any better, it just so happens to be slap bang next to the most fantastic eatery (smart restaurant / pub with gardens) which is perfect when you arrive at 7pm with a hungry teenager in tow after a 7 hour drive, and need to something good to eat. It is also really close to the beach and in the most attractive of neighhbourhoods, so an evening stroll was one of the highlights looking at all of the stunning archiecture of this lovely area. We can highly recommend Inverlea and very much hope to visit again in the future. Thank you so much Liz & Douglas, we had such a fantastic time. We will be spreading the word with friends and relatives.
