Couldn’t sleep very well as the traffic noise was constant. Perhaps it’s less noticeable if I had a room at the back?
GBMe, my partner and our baby girl, stayed here for 2 nights. The room was immaculate and so lovely! The bed was extremely cosy, there is storage to put away clothes during your stay, and we also had an en suite which was very convenient and super handy with a little one. Tin thed bedroom is a kettle, and cups/mugs to make yourselves some brews. There is a microwave, and mini fridge, for all to use, but we ate out mostly as there is plenty of restaurants and bars local. The area itself is lovely! As mentioned no small number of places to have a bite at, local shops to grab any groceries you need, and shops to just have a gander in. A bus stop just around the corner, or if you fancy a walk, you can do so for only 20minutes and you'll be in Chester! We had a pram with us and found we very rarely had any issues getting into places! And the lodge itself was spacious on entry and they were kind enough to have us in a ground floor room so no need to worry about carrying it up and down as we could just wheel into the room no stress! Gillian and Hilary were incredibly friendly and charming! And we even got to see their gorgeous dog who is gentle and kind. Honestly a 10/10 experience, this was our first time staying away from home, and it was truly lovely. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay in the area, especially as the price is very good when compared to other lodges or hotels nearby. Will definitely be staying again when we next visit Chester!

FRGBIt was a small room as described but I liked the little tray/table next to the bed where I was able put my phone, had a lamp and was able to put a drink there There was also loads of leaflets for what to do in the area and a treasure hunt made up for kids (my kids weren't with me but if they were they would love that)
The landlady of the property phoned me and was quite abrupt about what time I was going to arrive when I was on my way, unfortunately I had been delayed so was a bit later then planned The landlady was fine with me once I had arrived. Also somewhere to put clothes (a chair - I know it's a small room but I had to keep my clothes on the floor)
