Umah Kayu Ubud

Looks better in real life than the photos. Lovely pool that offers nice privacy. The common complaints in the reviews are perhaps a bit of an overreaction

Maybe the locking of the doors and windows could be more secure, but honestly we felt safe as it's a small establishment. The walls on the upper huts are thin and you can hear everything around you, but it just adds to the charm.

Huge comfortable bed, fantastic outdoor bathroom (incl bath), good location (about 10min walk to main street, 15-20 to Ubud Market - 15.000idr for scooter grab), massage places and food around the corner. Friendly staff, easy check in and was able to check out an hour later. Pool is nice, just go early if u want to be out in the sun. There's no sun later in the day. Shower has good water pressure. Just a very comfortable, jungle like stay.

The back door didnt have a curtain, so a lot of light came in in the morning. And the baths hot water ran out before it was full. Both not deal breakers. Would stay here again! No empty power outlets. Had to take out the bedlight or tv (which was ok, didnt use the tv).

Nothing I can think of

The location is great. It’s near the city center, but back set from the road so it’s quiet. It’s a little paradise in busy Ubud. Rooms and bathroom were clean, pool is nice and well maintained. The owners and staff are really friendly and a great help with tips and offer scooter/motorbike for rent and even offered us to bring us somewhere by car (instead of taking a grab).

We liked our stay very, VERY much. If we had to make a note on something it would maybe be the breakfast. Depending if you’re a big eater the portions could be a bit small for you. Not a dealbreaker for us, but just so you know.

I cannot recommend this place enough! I stayed for 2 nights here in one of the rooms with the outside bathroom. The property is very lush and green, with an infinity pool that overlooks the jungle. Then the room itself: nice, very clean, huge bed and AC. They provide lots of towels and the outdoor bathroom is simply gorgeous. There is even a bathtub, which was in the sun in the afternoon! Wayan helped me with arranging a halfday tour and laundry: I visited so many things in 5 hours and had the best driver. Overall, very happy with my stay and would definitely come back!

Localization was just perfect - 1 min by scooter from Ubud Center but it is still in the very quiet place surrounded by jungle. The place was cleaned daily, staff was very friendly - they didn't know much in english but G-translator did its job. Owners were super nice - helped with scooter, communicative, always available even during late evenings. We really enjoyed our time there (we had top right upstairs room closer to the jungle - and we think it was the best one available) - on the pictures it may seem a little dark inside but it's really not - a lot of windows, very nice terrace. It was 2 weeks in a paradise. Definitely top 3 places we stayed in during our 4 months travel. We ate breakfast there once and it was okay.

The location is perfect, very central, you just need to go down the street to be on the Main Street. It is very quiet with an amazing pool overlooking nature. We enjoyed our exterior bathroom and the room was very clean and spacious. The bed is so comfortable, we slept so well there. They also rent scooters for a good price. The staff might not speak perfect English but they are adorable and the language of the heart is all that matters!

It's not about the hotel but more about Ubud in general, the street has no sidewalk so be careful when it's dark, use your phone to get some light.

We loved the host! They are the nicest persons you could meet in Ubud, super helpful, friendly and caring. Our experience and adventures in Ubud were definitely more amazing thanks to them! Accommodation was also great!
