Price is good. Location is ok, on the side road of main area The balcony has a good view.

Not very clean. There might be bugs in the sheet, I got a lot of bites overnight. I found some black stuff on my pillow, looks like rat shit or from other animal.

the staff

First, we stayed on the second floor, but one night we saw a big rat!!! in the room and asked to change the room. However, the room on the first floor smelled really bad. The staff and we tried different ways to eliminate the smell, but nothing helped. Also, the towels were dirty, overall, the room was dirty as well. We had to buy another hotel and leave earlier. Do not recommend this option.

Traditional room. Good breakfast. Hot shower. Nice staff. Free water. Surrounded in nature.

Little far from the center of the town, but grab taxi comes soon so it’s not a big problem

I loved the staff, Wayan and her friend were very friendly and helpful! Also, it was very quiet and roosters nearby somehow only improved the tranquility of the place. There is an amazing garden to walk around and ponder at life. Overall a great place.

Breakfast was not very big (but quite tasty). The egg was missing on the noodles the first day but it was corrected later on without me even realizing the issue the first time. Also, the outside bathroom has been getting some rain so it was required to always have towels at the door to dry the legs when returning to the room from the bathroom. Not a major issue but worth mentioning :)

I absolutely loved my stay at Umah Kayu Ubud! It’s the perfect peaceful retreat—far enough from the hustle and bustle of the main street to feel tranquil, yet close enough to walk there with ease. The hosts were so warm and accommodating, and the amenities were spot on. One of the highlights was being able to order breakfast to my room each morning—such a nice touch! They also offer in-room massages at a very reasonable price, which added to the relaxing vibe. But my absolute favorite part? The stunning infinity pool overlooking the lush jungle. It was a dream and the perfect spot to unwind. 10/10—would definitely come back! I’ve already recommended this place to friends. If you’re visiting Ubud, do yourself a favour and check it out!

No moskito net, no safety box, no coffee / tea equipment, no fridge

Owner was very kind and sweet! Always said to me “don’t worry” which makes me comfortable to stay here a lot! I could rent a motor bike and I could go everywhere. The pool was beautiful, surrounded by lots of amazing plants!

The bathroom door didn’t shut properly but I was solo, so it wasn’t bothered at all :)

Very kind and responsive staff. Super clean. Stunningly beautiful jungle garden with a large infinity pool. Quiet location 10’ walk from Ubud.
