No airco, way too much money for whats its worth. Lot of flies, not the nicest staff It, just wansnt worth that money.

We respect that this is a family business and there are some things that are beyond their control, such as the isolation and unmade road, patrolled by guard dogs, leading to the property. Neither can they control the constant clouds of flies that make it very difficult to eat, drink or sleep. However this could be helped by using fly covers when serving food, or spraying rooms before guests arrive. What can be controlled is the comfort of the rooms and the dining options. There is no air conditioning, or even a fan, provided, nor a fridge or adequate tea and coffee making facilities. For the price charged, this is an unacceptable level of comfort. There are five choices in the restaurant, all of which are much more expensive than the 5 star hotels we stayed in either side of staying here, and the portion size and quality is very disappointing. It is a shame they take advantage of knowing you can't go anywhere else to eat. We returned from the Mount Batur trek intending to rest for the day, but the thought of being trapped in a warm, fly infested room with nowhere to go and only disappointing food to eat for another 24 hours felt more like a prison than a holiday. Despite booking for 2 nights we checked out early and hurried back to Ubud. If you bring your own car, kettle, fan, fridge and food this could be a good place to stay.

Location was stunning. Everything was very clean

Huge rooms. Stayed here just because we had an early morning hike to mount batur and didn’t want to wake very early to travel there. Otherwise not the easiest to get to this stay and it goes through the woods with narrow roads. The view from the hotel of mount batur is breathtaking!!

Difficult to get here as have to get through narrow bumpy roads in pitch darkness. Food options limited, ok taste. Rooms DO NOT HAVE A/C. We went during colder climate but during the summer it will be unbearably hot I think. We struggled a bit with the mosquitoes too. ALOT of steps to get to the hotel!!

The view. My god, the view!! Every time I looked up from my book, my jaw dropped. Ketut was SO lovely, and her mie goreng was the best we had the whole time we were in Bali. Try it. You won’t be sorry. One of the most remarkable places I’ve ever stayed.

It was down one of the world’s worst roads - our taxi driver refused to drive down it. Be aware of that. Also, some complete weirdo had hung a small bag of cheese (yes, CHEESE) behind the bathroom sink, which had gone mouldy and the bathroom stank something awful. Why they’d do that, I’ve no idea. Some people just want to watch the world burn. But once located and disposed of the bathroom aired out quickly and was fine. Ketut was incredibly apologetic. Some tables and chairs, and maybe a day bed or bean bags, on the terrace would elevate this place even further.
