Kind stuff and delicious food.

A short stroll away from the crowded beach of Palolem, situated at the quiet backwaters. You can sit in the cozy restaurant watching birds or rent a kajak to see them even better. The Junior Manager is a lovely person and very helpful. He organized me a riksha and a taxi, when ever I needed, he gave me some good advices for visiting nice places around. He does a great job!

I had the hut just next to the kitchen. The other huts besides are surely more calm. The hut and the bathroom are very basic. I was now travelling around in India for three weeks and most of the huts / places to stay had better value for the money.

Om Ganesha is a sanctuary in Palolem, not only is it meters away from the beach, but it is at an incredible distance from the busy part of the beach and is located on a serene river that lets you bird watch and feel like you are part of a prehistoric time on Earth. I recommend you kayak on the river to see some birds up close. The staff was incredibly kind, treating the guests like family and I can not thank you enough for such a pleasant stay. The bungalows are placed under beautiful palm trees, which make you feel like the nature that surrounds you is more than part of your stay. The food was also delicious and we loved eating breakfast here. Thank you for everything!

The facilities need a slight bit of improvement, for example, the toilet did not flush, you had to pour water instead and the windows were almost impossible to close (the staff finally managed). The wifi in the further bungalows also does not really work (and because it was on the beach my 4G did not either), but I think it was because it was the furthest bungalow from the wifi, because it worked everywhere else. But aside from those small things, the stay was incredible.

The beach huts feature a good sized room with a comfortable bed and a wet-room style shower bathroom. The cleaning staff are available every few days upon request and do an excellent job. Right outside the beach huts is the restaurant which serves wonderfully healthy and delicious food at unbelievably reasonable prices. There are kayaks that you can rent for expeditions to the sea or down the river. There are hammocks to relax in, a convenience pop-up store for any items you might want or need and a watchman on nights even though the property is extremely safe and secure. The staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is friendly, chilled and welcoming. Anna is always available and usually present in person every few days. The property is in a part of the beachy jungle, a few minutes from the beach stretch and surrounded by gorgeous tall trees. Of all the places I saw in the area, this was definitely the best and I was extremely glad to have found it. Would highly recommend and would stay here again. The photos accurately reflect the accommodation.

There’s nothing I don’t like but I would recommend bringing ear plugs as sometimes you might hear the birds/monkeys/dogs slightly earlier than you might like!

We loved this hidden gem overlooking the backwaters of Palolem. The staff was so kind and helpful. It was a great deal and a 2 minute walk to the beach. We saw so many birds and Langur monkeys playing outside our room. It is simple but clean and safe. We would definitely stay again.

The only downside was the lack of AC.

Firstly, the pictures don’t do it justice. It’s a little piece of paradise on the edge of Palolem, tucked away on sand walking paths with a less than 1 minute walk to the beach. You can hear the waves from the cottages as you are drifting to sleep. The staff are laidback, friendly and accommodating. The owners are very sweet as well. The bug net was perfect to cover the bed.

A hook on the back of the bathroom door could be installed to allow the bathroom to dry. Also buckets of water could be provided to wash feet before entering the cottages.

Beautiful Om Ganesha resort by the back waters. Away from all the noise and humdrum of the typical tourist Goa, Om Ganesha proved the perfect “Far From The Madding Crowd” vacation for us. Of course beach is just a minute away from this quaint little haven making it best of both worlds. Food was amazing. Staff especially, Devendra was extremely helpful and friendly. The waterside restaurant was just perfect. you can nurse a drink for hours together, sit and stare at the verdant expanse or read a book undisturbed. Cottages were sparse yet comfortable. This was December and pleasant during the day and cold at night so there was no need for AC. But if one plans for a stay here in March/April perhaps the want of an AC would be felt. Other than that, would recommend Om Ganesha to anybody who wants the perfect escape yet be near the beach.
