Staff were very friendly and helpful. They had two lovely, relaxed dogs resident in the property. The garden in the courtyard was beautiful.

Lovely heritage bungalow, two extremely friendly dogs on the property, lovely and green, very efficient staff, well maintained - absolutely clean and sparkling.! Good homey breakfast served by the local ladies.

Cannot be helped, but because of the greens, loads of mosquitoes around, so after dark, difficult to sit outside the bedrooms.

Impressive design, traditional colonial style, great garden, tasty breakfast and exceptional staff.

No hot water in the shower.

The staff even arranged for us to have a very reliable touktouk driver for our outings.

We had an amazing stay at Kariappa House in Pondicherry! It’s not a typical hotel or guest house, but feels like your own private holiday home. The property is beautifully maintained, with lush green trees and a perfect blend of traditional Tamil architecture and modern interiors. The atmosphere is peaceful and cozy, right in the heart of the city, giving us the perfect vibe for the vacation! The caretakers and staff were exceptional — Ramji, Mukesh, and Vanaja Akka made us feel right at home with their warm hospitality and delicious food. We also loved the cute little pets adding to the charm of the place. If you’re looking for a relaxing, authentic stay with a homely touch in Pondicherry, we highly recommend Kariappa House. We’ll always remember this special experience!

Cadre exceptionnel , une maison hors du temps et de l'agitation de la ville. Très belle chambre, avec tout le confort . Piscine dans un jardin luxuriant. Personnel très attentif et serviable. Petit déjeuner traditionnel mais les cuisiniers s'adaptent aux goûts européens.

la situation au sein d'un quartier ancien de Pondichery et populaire rend parfois difficile les trajets vers le centre et la ville blanche, bien que cela puisse se faire à pied en 15 Mn. Les taxis ont parfois du mal à localiser l'adresse. Mais l'accueil de la maison facilite le recours à des taxis. Maison plutot faite pour les adultes, non adaptée aux familles avec enfants.

Wir waren eine Woche in dem Hotel und wir haben jeden Tag genossen. Das Kariappa House ist eines der schönsten Hotels, in dem wir je übernachtet haben. Es hat einfach alles gepasst, die geschmackvolle Ausstattung, die Gastfreundlichkeit und nicht zuletzt der sehr nette Kontakt zu Theresa und Maurice. Wir kommen wieder!

The air conditioner in my room was broken. It was too noisy outside at night and early morning. Wifi was suddenly unavailable for several hours.
