Kariappa House

Kariappa House exceeded my expectations and I am certainly coming back for a longer stay. The warmth, hospitality, attention to detail and specially the swimming pool and the garden were exceptional. I was a little wary of the location but that was also not a problem at all because Kariappa House is very close to the French quarter (which can get very crowded) and although it is located in the middle of a gentrified fishing village, it has a lot of local charm as one approaches the house. Once inside, it’s a different world. My Room (T2) was perfect for a single person and had a lot of old world charm. It has been restored beautifully and is maintained very well. The staff were very helpful and it felt like home. They also help organise curated local experiences and the free shuttle to the French Quarter is very useful. This place is an authentic and charming guesthouse in Pondicherry which one should not miss.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike. Everything was perfect.

The property is beautifully renovated and tasteful! Staff were friendly and warm. They took care to write back to assure us that they could take care of our dairy free breakfast request. We loved the stay!

It would be great if the approach map was more explicit and there are arrow signs from the main Road.

Friendly staff. Great location. Tranquility and yet just a short walk into the French quarter in Pondicherry. Delicious South Indian breakfast each day. No bar but there was a fridge in the room. Lovely pool… refreshing

j ai trouvé inadmissible de devoir régler en ligne la totalité du séjour 2 mois à l avance , je ne referai plus jamais cela ....c est la première fois qu on me demande une telle chose et pourtant je voyage beaucoup le prix : Au final trop chère pour la prestation si l on se base sur les prix indien

Beautiful calm oasis in Puducherry, very friendly and helpful staff, delicious South Indian food … perfect!

The property is an exceptionally peaceful and beautifully maintained getaway. Loved the decoration, the lemongrass-scented home perfume, the block-printed beddings, friendly dogs and very helpful and approachable staff.

The property is located in a small fishing village a distance away from white town. Staff is always there to help you getting a tuktuk to town though.
