The property is beautiful with Tamil French architecture, it brings a sense of quiet calm and ancient beauty. Ramji is an excellent host, very caring helpful.

The property’s historic charm really stood out, giving an authentic feel of a traditional house. Surrounded by abundant greenery and close to nature, this aspect of our stay was truly delightful.

I felt that the price I paid did not match the services provided. The place felt more like a guest house or B&B rather than a hotel, and the overall experience did not meet my expectations.

C’est un établissement de grande qualité avec un charme fou. Ma chambre au 1er étage était très confortable, lit spacieux et décoration soignée. Belle salle d’eau avec douche très performante avec de l’eau chaude presque tout de suite. Le personnel est aux petits soins. Magnifique bassin de nage.

La seule chose qui me retiendrait peut être d’y revenir est sa localisation, un peu excentrée dans un quartier pauvre et assez délabrée qui ne se prête pas vraiment à la promenade. Il faut forcément prendre un tuk tuk.

Great place to stay with beautifully restored Franco-Tamil architecture. The bungalow is located in a quiet part of town away from the touristy spaces. The place is very family-friendly and offers a great breakfast.

La casa es maravillosa, parece de revista. Es un lugar con un encanto especial. Volvería mil veces. La piscina la tienes para ti solo. El personal es encantador. No nos queríamos ir de allí. Definitivamente, el mejor lugar para estar en Pondicherry.

From the moment Ramji opened the gate with his friendly smile, we felt completely at ease in the cool garden with its gentle waterfalls. The welcome drink of Nannari syrup and jaggery, sparkling with chia seeds, set a magical tone for our ten-day stay. The seamless connection between garden and house, supported by elegant wooden pillars, creates a calm atmosphere, gently enhanced by the soft airflow through the open veranda. What made our stay truly unforgettable was the warmth and dedication of the staff. The Ammas lovingly cared for our room each day, while Mukesh and the team, strong and grounded, yet heartwarming and sincerely attentive, helping with everything from arranging a good exchange rate to finding alcohol-free beer, and interested when we visited Auroville and the children of ‘Stichting Isai Maiyam’. Vanaja’s traditional cooking was a highlight; authentic South Indian dishes made with skill, joy, and her cheerful smile. We were even able to invite our guest; manager of Isai Maiyam Trust, for lunch, which the staff welcomed warmly, making it feel like sharing the heart of the house with a friend. Kariappa House is more than a place to stay; it is family warmth, care, and beauty infused with heart and soul. We leave with deep gratitude and hope to return.
