Riad Rayhana

We really loved the location of the Riad, it’s right in the centre of the medina off one of the principal streets. The Riad is beautiful, the photos are an accurate depiction of the lovely tiles in the lobby area. The staff were very friendly and always on hand to help, they made up takeaway breakfasts when we needed to get away early. The staff gave us lots of information about Fes. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The roof terrace and view is wonderful! Great value for money.

The bathroom is a wet room but the drain isn’t very good (or perhaps the angle of the flooring isn’t correct) - meaning the bathroom floor is always quite wet. Wi-Fi could be a little patchy in the room, but worked well elsewhere.

The hotel staff was great. The welcome with tea, explanation of local attractions, and offer to reach out for anything - these seem to be fairly standard at smaller accommodations like this in this part of the world. However, Omar's seemed much more genuine. He was very responsive on WhatsApp, and always available at the property when I needed something. He seems like a truly hardworking, welcoming guy - not an act to try to get a commission or positive review. Breakfast was served restaurant-style - they bring out dishes to each individual table. Bed was very comfortable. Power strip, AC, hair dryer, shampoo and hanging hooks/racks were all available. WiFi was stable. Location is hidden in the medina near the clock tower.

Bathroom was musty (no circulation) and small. The floor sloped such that shower water did not drain - even the next day, there was a big pool of water in the middle of the bathroom. This might've just been my room, though. The window in my room didn't shut closed, so earplugs might be a good idea. Typical of older buildings in the area, the stairs are uneven and some doorways/ceilings low. It is not their fault, but if you have accessibility/mobility concerns, you would be best served by a standard hotel.

WiFi was very slow throughout the property and often dropped off Shower was too short, had to crouch to not hit the ceiling with our heads

Omar was a really nice and extremely friendly host, he even helped us out when we had an accident with our car. He was really helpful and provided us with lots of information about Fès. Great breakfast. All in all it was a really good and very personal service in this riad. Rooms were nice clean.

Staff super friendly and helpful, they worked hard even though it was Ramadan and Eid. Beds were comfortable. They had a baby bed, which was very convenient. Place was very beautiful.

The room was a bit stuffy, needed a little more ventilation. Food was ok.

We were served tea and cookies on arrival, the staff member was very informative, hotel has a nice decor, we were able to borrow an umbrella from the hotel when needed, the location was very central

It was very difficult to find the hotel as the GPS indicated a different spot next to the main street when in fact the hotel is in a small side alley. Our room was right next to the reception/dining room which meant it was not very private and quite loud for us, the shower was divided from the rest of the bathroom floor in such an unfortunate way that after taking a shower most of the floor was wet, which made it uncomfortable to then use the toilet or the sink. There was no space to hang the towels to dry.
