The Rooms at Firecastle

Central to everything, good location.

No air conditioning only a fan that blew hot air around the room, wouldn’t be an issue in cooler months.

The location is excellent, right at the heart of Kildare and close to the outlet. Our room was lovely, beautifully decorated with all you need for a comfortable stay. Well planned out with a dressing table and mirror which isn’t always the case in other places! The view was gorgeous, looking over the church and round tower which we took time to visit. Breakfast in the deli next door was lovely and exceeded expectations...I was expecting a continental style breakfast but a selection of breakfast styles was available. I had eggs benedict and my daughter had pancakes with berries and cream. It was evident that good quality ingredients had been used. I think Firecastle will be our first choice for next stay in Kildare!

We were fortunate to find a parking space in the public car park only minutes from the Firecastle. I’m not sure what we would have done otherwise. It would be good if there were a few reserved spaces for those staying in Firecastle but this is probably not possible...but worth exploring. There was some noise from the lane just behind our room later in the evening but not enough to annoy us and not anything to do with Firecastle! Otherwise, no significant issues.

This is simply a gem. From the outside your thinking what is this place? Inside it's like a different planet. The decor is amazing, the colour scheme is tastefully done. It's a credit to the people who designed this place.The time, patience, energy, hard work and obviously money that went in to create this masterpiece,is obvious and well worth their hard work.

I thought outside didn't really give the place a great first impression. The more I think about it, that's exactly what the owners cleverly done. Cause the inside instantly dispels any doubts. Well done to the design team, it's a piece of magic

Perfect location

I was disappointed with the bathroom. It looked more like a hospital bathroom than a hotel bathroom. When I booked the room, this type of bathroom was not shown in the photos. The pictures displayed a different, much nicer bathroom that is what you would normally expect in a hotel. I believe I was assigned an accessible/special-needs room, which I did not request and was not informed about in advance.
