The Rooms at Firecastle

The Rooms at Firecastle in Kildare was such a warm and welcoming stay from the moment we arrived. Check-in was simple and convenient, with the rooms located right beside the café, and every staff member we encountered was exceptionally kind and helpful. The town itself has such an easygoing, friendly atmosphere. Everywhere we went, the locals were genuinely warm and welcoming. Our room was clean, comfortable, thoughtfully decorated, and equipped with great amenities. A small moment that really stood out: after discovering my travel adapter wasn’t working properly, the staff kindly lent me one for the night without hesitation. That kind of hospitality says everything. Breakfast at the Firecastle café is an absolute must. The sausage roll and cinnamon bun were outrageously good, the kind of pastries that make you briefly consider extending your trip indefinitely. ☕🥐 We enjoyed dinner at Silken Thomas with a perfect pint of Smithwick’s on draft and classic pub fare, then headed to PJ Mahon’s for a Guinness and a wonderful local pub atmosphere. One of the best surprises was discovering that St. Brigid’s Cathedral sits directly behind the property. I highly recommend climbing the Round Tower for the beautiful views over Kildare. The gentleman working there shared an incredible history of both the cathedral and the town, which made the visit even more memorable. Highly recommend both The Rooms at Firecastle and Kildare itself. Between the welcoming staff, the friendly locals, cozy pubs, and rich history, it felt less like passing through and more like being folded into the town for a night.

Comfortable bed, modern shower. Good coffee machine. Interesting decor. Discount for local restaurant. Parking nearby. Acess to the deli/cafe with delicious, freshly prepared food. Lovely ambience.

Everything, the bed was so comfy, the room was a really beautiful room, in the middle of the town, so you have to put up with the hustle and bustling going on outside, we had no problem with that at all.

Can't say anything bad about this property , great place for a couples night out or weekend away

Wonderful rooms in a delightful location with beautiful view of the church. We had dinner at the sister restaurant Hartes next door and it was a highlight. Staying at Firecastle even gave you a discount at Hartes. Breakfast was at Firecastle cafe and the food was excellent. Comfortable beds and a snazzy lift.
