Karta House

I stayed at Karta House for almost a month while I completed my yoga teacher training, and I couldn't have chose a better accommodation! First, Karta House is an incredible location - nestled on a quiet street, it is walking distance to all that Ubud has to offer but tucked away on a quiet street to for a peaceful stay away from the chaos of motorbikes and cars. Radiantly Alive yoga and Herb Library are two bonuses on the same street. The rooms are modest but cleaned daily, and the balconies are gorgeous - teeming with flowers and greenery. The family who runs Karta house are so lovely - I was delighted to chat with them each day on my way in and out. They were my second family for the time I was there!

The very welcoming family who have looked after me. The room has been serviced daily, very clean & spotless linen. The location in a charming street. Two excellent yoga shalas only 5 mins walk. Great restaurants & cafes very close by. Quiet despite proximity to Centre. Rooster & dog noise minimal.

I always stay in Karta House when I’m un Ubud. Is the best homestay in town by far. Little paradise walking distance from all the main attractions and the family that runs it is amazing. Super recommended! 10/10

The location was pretty good- quieter area with a nice spa nearby, and a few nice cafes. Good wifi.

A/c didn’t work very well, toilet in a very bad state- dirty and old, no change of sheets, towels, replenishment of the toilet paper offered in 10 days unless you find them and ask. Very dirty inside the night stand drawer and inside the wardrobe. The bathroom had small openings in the wall for ventilation that allowed quite large lizards in. There’s a fruit tree next to the private terrace that attracted lots of bats after sunset and it wasn’t possible to comfortably chill on the terrace due to that.

The family that owns the homestay is lovely, very kind, welcoming and helpful. The location is quiet and calm, even though in the middle of Ubud, and the view is of a tropical house garden. The room had everything that I needed (kettle and fridge), and it was cleaned every day. The balcony was great to have too - I stayed on the first floor.
