Golden View Guest Ella

The view was good but it does not match the atmosphere presented in the pictures

A place that is very hard to reach and no transport will simply pick you had to take two tuktuks for the lugage and me and the wife. The room is very very basic colors are not calm and feel forced. The bathroom is old and not good, the seat leaks sewage water. The images have filters that hides the issues with the colors and the atmosphere of the room. I canceled after spending one night.

Das Golden View Hostel war für mich eines der Highlights in Ella. Die Aussicht ist einfach unglaublich – eher 20/10 als 10/10. Hoch in den Bergen gelegen, mit Blick auf die Natur, die Berge, den Sonnenaufgang, die Sterne und den Mond. Manchmal konnte ich sogar Affen und andere Tiere beobachten. An diesem Ausblick konnte ich mich wirklich nicht sattsehen. Der Service war ebenfalls super. Alle waren sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und entspannt. Auch Wäscheservice war möglich, was sehr praktisch war. Der Weg nach oben ist zu Fuß etwas anstrengend, aber die Aussicht macht das mehr als wett. Mit dem Tuk-Tuk kommt man problemlos hoch und runter. Wer Ruhe, Natur und einen spektakulären Ausblick sucht, ist hier genau richtig.

We stayed at this villa for two nights and truly enjoyed our time there. The location on top of the mountain offers absolutely breathtaking views over the valley and Little Adam’s Peak — waking up to this scenery and watching the sunset from the balcony was unforgettable. The breakfasts were excellent and varied each morning. On the first day we had delicious traditional hoppers, and on the second day eggs, fresh fruits, and other English breakfast items. Everything was very tasty, and the hosts were happy to offer extra portions if needed. The owner was incredibly friendly, smiling, and always ready to help. During our stay our car would not start, and he immediately assisted us with solving the problem, which we really appreciated. One important thing to know before booking: the road to the villa is extremely steep and quite challenging, especially if you are driving yourself. The narrow mountain serpentines can feel intimidating, particularly at night or in bad weather. However, once you arrive and see the panoramic views from the balcony, you understand that it is absolutely worth it. A peaceful and memorable stay with genuine hospitality and some of the best views we experienced in Ella.
