Excellent location with lovely sea views. The room was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The seating area in the window was lovely- and the outside seating was appreciated when the sun was shining. Host communicated well and the self check-in was easy. Will definitely stay again.

The fridge was appreciated in the day but turned on a few times in the night and broke our sleep.

Location...awesome. comfortable, clean. Bathroom setup was a little different, but it's a renovated older building, quirky adds to the charm. Oban is a charming town and a great place to stay adds to the experience. We'll done!

Easily the nicest room of the ten places we stayed during our Highlands perambulations in May. Drop-dead picture window of the ferry-forward Oban harbor and reclining velvet chairs compelled many pictures of the busy CalMac boats chugging to and fro. Host says all rooms are afforded great views so you can’t go wrong. Liked our first-floor spot (no luggage haul up the stairs) with its huge room, fireplace, and lovely bath. Heavy snacks in lieu of breakfast, sherry, and lovely linens defined our two-night stay. Reluctantly departed knowing future hostelries wouldn’t equal the stellar views.

We enjoyed everything about our stay at MacKays Guest house. The room was very well furnished and beautifully decorated throughout. The standard of cleanliness was first class. The view from the large bay window of the sea and the town was exceptional. The added touches of snacks and drinks including sherry were a nice touch. The location is perfect and it’s an easy walk into the centre of the town. We would not hesitate to book here again. The owners should be very proud of their business.

Breakfast was left in a cool bag each day. Consisted of porridge pot, Breakfast bar and orange juice. Fresh fruit available and plenty of tea and coffee on offer.

Would have preferred original flavour porridge .
