Definitely value for money. Even though the managing lady did not speak English we managed to communicate and she was very friendly. The room was very clean and there was warm water (on top of the shower and don't put max flow). There were also extra blankets, but it was not needed. The lady also assisted us with our laundry ( service fee of 4 soles per kilo ). It was 15min walking from Plaza de Armas and it was very safe also at night.

Emptying the bins of the bathroom could happen a bit more often.

Lovely and very welcoming staff who always took good care of us. Very comfortable bed with lovely view of the city. Great place to stay in Cusco.

Host was overbearing; she would meet me everytime I arrived at the hotel no matter the hour. She checked my room everyday, even though I told her I didn't need my room to be checked/cleaned. Having to ring the door bell and wait for the door to be unlocked was uncomfortable. When I left, she insisted I leave a good review.

Casa del Escultor is located on the western edge of Cusco's historic district. Perfect location to escape the crowds and touts, but turn the corner and you're already walking on cobblestone streets lined by historic buildings. Easy walk to everything - 7 minutes to Mercado Central San Pedro - 10 minutes to San Francisco and Regocijo Plazas - 15 minutes to Plaza de Armas and Cathedral, etc. This is a large private home with a large dining area on the ground floor, guest rooms on two floors above and the owner living on the top floor. It's a family-run guesthouse, with the owner's sister and daughter also helping out. They are all very professional, welcoming and helpful. When I arrived, I was in great pain from a pinched nerve (I had to go for acupuncture the next day) so the sisters were very thoughtful, helpful and empathetic to my unusual situation. One sister carried all my heavy luggage up the stairs because I couldn't. I also found out later that they upgraded me to a larger, quieter room so I'd be more comfortable while I recovered. The central room I stayed in was super quiet and restful, away from any traffic noise. Two larger rooms at the back of the house have incredible panoramic views over all of Cusco and distant mountains. The same view is seen from floor-to-ceiling windows in the hallway. It's amazing! I liked the hostesses, the house location and my room so much that I stayed there much longer. I also returned for another week, after spending time in Sacred Valley. In fact, during three months of traveling around Peru, this was my favorite room and guesthouse! It's awesome! I was allowed to use the ground floor kitchen (They use it to prepare guests' breakfasts) microwave and to heat water on the gas stove for hot drinks. That was really helpful! The owners said that in the future they will put a small fridge in that kitchen also for guests' use. That will be really useful. All in all, a wonderful place!

The rooms are not very sound or light proof. Big windows into main hallway. Got bright when the sun came up. Windows are single pane and do not stop sound from traveling in. If people are courteous and not loud it’s not a problem, but if they are loud as some were while we were there you will hear it.
