Casa La Castañeda

Esta bien ubicado en una zona tranquila pero se puede ir caminando al centro. Las zonas comunes son muy agradables.

La habitación triple es muy pequeña, sobre todo el baño, y los colchones no eran muy cómodos.

I loved the location- one block from the beach, and in a quiet neighborhood. I also loved the patio and shared kitchen areas. It was nice to have a common area to meet other travelers. The hostess was very kind, but my limited spanish kept our communication simple.

My room was large and had 2 beds. One was too hard to sleep on. The other was very firm, but I could manage sleeping on it. The only window to my room did not have a screen, so if I opened it, mosquitoes came into the room. With the window closed all week, the room got very warm and stuffy, even when I used the air conditioner. The fan helped to circulate the air.

Hands down the worst check in experience of my life. We booked four rooms for one night here for us and our friends. We called the reception an hour before 3pm to ask a question and she said she was busy and hung up on us. We called her back and she said we had to be at the hotel at exactly 3pm to check in. At 3:02 she text us saying she was going to leave in the next 2 minutes to run errands. Her attitude and voice was impatient and rude. We arrived at the guesthouse and she had only 2 rooms available, when we had booked 4. She was incredibly rude and said this was our problem. We showed her our booking confirmation and she said this was through booking and not direct and blamed us for not calling to confirm - which we had actually done before she hung up on us. She got ruder and louder, refusing to cancel the booking through booking.com so we could get our deposit back and insisting we take 2 double beds between 6 people - even though we had clearly booked 4 rooms. She eventually slammed the door in our face leaving us with nowhere to stay. Strongly recommend nobody ever stays here. Mexico is wonderful, Baja in particular - this woman was the lowlight of months traveling here.

The gated courtyard and outdoor kitchen were excellent! We were traveling with our 2-year-old and it was a safe and welcoming place for him to play and for us to relax! Walking distance from the beach and downtown. Great vibes and fun to chat with other travelers.

Lovely space! Would absolutely stay there again.

The bed was a little creaky, but that's really the only thing I could complain about.

La Casa is my go to place in Loreto. I stay there several nights a year while traveling by auto between homes. I love the garden, and the availability of a kitchen, wifi, hot showers, and secure parking.
