El Güis hostel

The family is amazing and really made our stay, super friendly and helpful. Amazing place right in the centre of Balgue. Great value for money. We loved it so much we stayed extra nights.

The hosts were really friendly! We felt very welcome from the beginning on. The location is really nice since it is in Balgue but its away from the streets, so its kind of a quiet area.

It was a bit dirty in the room and in the kitchen, which was totally fine for 2 nights though. Sadly the dogs were fighting every night so it was a bit loud, but that's not the fault of the hosts :)

1000% recommend staying here! Very chill environment and the owners truly make you feel like part of the family. They have the biggest hearts and they also keep the facility very clean and comfortable feeling. We will miss this place for sure

The place is really nice and we loved to stay there! the rooms are basic but totally fine and the owner even changed the towels and bed sheets after two nights. She is really caring and helpful. She organised a tour guide for us for the volcano hike and helped us to rent a motorbike. She also offers laundry and breakfast and i can really recommend getting breakfast there! It’s 130 cordobas and you get something freshly prepared from her, every morning something different, everything was delicious and especially the different fresh juices! It’s a really peaceful place in a quiet neighborhood and we would definitely stay there again.

The owner, Odelba and her family were awesome! So kind and helpful. The place has a great location to do whatever you want to do in Ometepe, very clean, solar energy, great wifi, filtered water, hammocks. All good. We loved it so much that we are staying one more full month!

A great place to stay. The rooms are simple, but they have everything you need. The common area is very nice with lovely hammocks to relax in. The location is good, on walking distance of some good restaurants. But the best thing about the place is the lovely hostess. She is very friendly and will help you with everything you need. From renting a motorbike, to booking a tour to one of the volcanoes. She really makes you feel at home. Would definitely recommend this place.

Gave Excellent grade with understanding that this is a backpackers accommodation. Simple room and shower/toilet/lav. No hot water (typical for this hot climate and this area), community kitchen, comfy patio area. Short walk (200m) on muddy rutted road from main hwy. Restaurants and fruit stands nearby. Wifi was dependable! Host is very friendly and will make sure you are comfortable.

The rooms have open blocks at ceiling. If adjacent room is occupied, you will overhear some conversation and see the glow of ceiling light.

Very nice little guesthouse. The family are so so kind they make you feel so welcome! They’ve tried to make it so homely! I loved the hammocks and chill out area! Rooms were nice and cool. Felt like a very Nicaraguan experience which we loved :)

I have my own room and private bathroom. The host very helpful to book the ATV and hiking and kayak (with pick up) tour. Also recommend very delicious restaurant that nearby. And provide the cooking oil for me to cook. The host help to tidy up and clean up the toilet everyday. It's not happen in most hostel. Very appreciate it.

Keep your food away. The ant will find it quickly. The ktichen facilites can do better.
