Villa Kalma Canggu

It was great. Room was comfortable & stylish.

The pool. I was hoping it was green tiles, however it was porous cement with algae which whilst was a great centre piece for the 4 rooms, was a great disappointment plus a great mosquito hub.

Location and layout

- Beautiful pool and nice chairs out on the patio to sit on and have your morning coffee or evening beer. - Very private. There’s only 4 rooms so I barely saw other guests. It was nice and quiet. Staff is only there when cleaning or making repairs during the day. Otherwise you have to message them to get in touch. - I requested an airport transfer the day before my arrival and the property management organized it very promptly and communicated well. - Cute boho style bed decor (spread + decorative pillows). Just wish it was actually on the bed when it was made, not only on the first day.

- Dirty. Sheets and the bed canopy had stains. I stayed over 8 days and my sheets weren’t changed once, until I specifically asked for them to be changed. There was a dead bug on the nightstand (along with dust and dirt) and after the room was “cleaned”, both the bug and the dirt were still there. - Low quality bedding and towels. Pillows were stiff and were stuffed into pillow cases much smaller in size than the pillows, so they were stiff as wood and very uncomfortable. Pillow cases had holes in them. Towels were dark and left lint on my skin after using them. - Furniture is pretty cheap too. The desk chair is actually a deep accent chair and was uncomfortable to use as a desk chair. - Kitchen was minimal and didn’t have a microwave or a toaster. Utensils had rust on them. No towels in the kitchen. - No staff or office at the property and nowhere to leave suitcases if you come before checkin time or leave after checkout. I was allowed to leave my luggage in the room after the checkout time, which was nice, but then was rushed to move my luggage out the property at 3:30pm. Just something to keep in mind.

The location is great. The photos look much better than the actual condition of the place. It could use some TLC in cleaning off water residue for sure. The bed was comfortable and there was a scooter rental right next door so that was super convenient. I actually didn’t use the pool but it looked clean.

It wasn’t as clean as it could be. I would not ever use the kitchen, it has not been well maintained considering it’s an outdoor kitchen. I never saw any staff and it’s self checkout so you don’t see anyone and they are slow to respond on booking. I asked for a WhatsApp number in case I needed assistance right away but I never needed to use it so I don’t know if it would have been more responsive. The bidet had a strong smell after you used it after not using it for a few hours.

Very strategic location. Very friendly housekeeping staff.

Bad wifi and network service in the room. We have to get out of the room to get better connection. The worst part was that part of the ceiling of our room collapsed on our second day in. The housekeeping staff were very apologetic about it, however, until now there is no any sort of apologies and compensation from the management despite follow ups from our end. No reassurance given to us on the safety of our room. Very disappointed with the management.

Close to the beach and off the street, so was quiet.

A small fridge in the room, but there was one down stairs in kitchen.

The location was fabulous. So easy to get too also. Was away from the main road. So it wasn’t noisy

No shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. Mosquitoes where annoying
