This is a beautiful property and the room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were excellent, really kind and happy to help with anything (even packed me fruit to-go for my early train :))! Breakfast was also amazing, some of the best food I have had in Sri Lanka. If you are looking for a nice place to stay in Jaffna, this is it!

Outstanding experience at Gatetrees Resort in Jaffna. Our host was incredibly kind and attentive, always available to help with anything we needed. He prepared an amazing crab curry for us — honestly one of the best dishes we had during our entire trip to northern Sri Lanka, authentic Jaffna style at its finest. The rooms are well-maintained, spacious, and impeccably clean. The entire staff is friendly, welcoming, and always smiling. Great location for visiting central Jaffna, Nallur Kovil, and the Dutch Fort. Highly recommended for travelers who want to explore the Tamil north of Sri Lanka with the right balance of comfort and genuine local hospitality. Thank you for everything!

The room was very comfortable as they very generously upgraded us to a deluxe room. . Good breakfast. Evening meals were exceptional. The staff friendly and helpful and put us onto Siva Kumar a great guide and tuk tuk driver whom we used for our excursions to Pt Pedro and also Delf Island. Our stay could not have been better.

The staff and the food, particularly the breakfast, were excellent. It was relaxed, clean and comfortable.

I had such a genuinely wonderful stay at GateTrees Resort, and I honestly left feeling like I was leaving home rather than a hotel. A very special mention to Edman Suganthini — her kindness, warmth, and personalised care made the entire experience unforgettable. She constantly checked in on our well-being and made sure we were comfortable throughout the stay. It never felt transactional; it truly felt like we were being taken care of by family. The rooms are incredibly spacious, clean, and peaceful, and the mattress was honestly one of the most comfortable I’ve slept on in a long time. After long days travelling around Jaffna, coming back to the room felt so relaxing. And the food… absolutely amazing, amazing, amazing. The local dishes prepared by the cook were exceptional and full of authentic flavour. You can really taste the love and care in the cooking. Most importantly — please do not skip the breakfast here. Even after my trip, I’m still craving the exact same dosa, pittu, fresh fruit platter, and coffee. Everything was so fresh, comforting, and incredibly delicious. Thank you again to the entire team at GateTrees Resort for such a heartfelt experience. I will definitely return whenever I’m back in Jaffna.

An amazing place in a central location, conveniently close to town. The rooms are very comfortable and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. The breakfast was wonderful, with a great variety and quality. The staff were professional, attentive, and very accommodating to our requests, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall, a truly amazing experience. I would highly recommend it.
