Makongo Hills Lodge

War alles bestens. Zimmer, Frühstück, Mittag- und Abendessen, die Ausfahren, der Ausblick.... Wir haben den Aufenthalt dort richtig genossen. Was bemerkungswert war: Da bei der Bezahlung per Kreditkarte Probleme auftauchten, konnte ich die ausstehende Summe nach dem Urlaub aus Deutschland bezahlen. Dieses Vertrauen ist "bemerkenswert"!!!

Our 3 nights at Makongo was an experience of a lifetime. From seeing amazing wildlife from our front porch, the sweeping views over the reserve from our hilltop setting, the incredible game drives with our knowledgeable guide, and the personal attention from lodge staff who strived to ensure that our experience was perfect, we could not have asked for more.

We had to leave.

Imagine having breakfast on a deck with a view of the surrounding hills and bush with giraffe grazing just a few metres away and impalas running across the lawn. An elephant pays a visit just before bedtime and warthog and wildebeest greet you on the lawn when you drive up to reception. No fences anywhere. Sounds magical and perhaps made-up but it is most definitely not. It's what we experienced at Makongo. Magical.

Incroyab le experience et intimiste. On avait l'impression d'être à la maison / hotel, c'était juste incroyable. Une équipe adorable (jamais vu ca) et les safari inclus ainsi que les repas... GENIAL !

This experience goes beyond just a lodging one. It was so superb that I even extended my stay for one more night. Great communication prior to arrival and while you’re trying to drive there, the adventure starts after the very first gate in the reserve. A personalized service like you only experience in a handful of properties ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ from a different set up for each meal, to having their chef announce every meal to you, turndown service in the room, you feel right at home and animals are wondering all around the property day and night. Management at the lodge is outstanding and very detailed oriented. Every game drive was a wonderful opportunity to disconnect and relax in a very raw and natural atmosphere. Megan & Trevor made it all wonderful for me, extremely professional people. I also had the most amazing meals while in SA, trying different proteins like never before in my life and a very authentic Braii for the last night. Internet connection is not reliable however for me it turned out to be a fantastic chance to connect with myself and the surroundings… the pool and its deck with a view like no other. I really hope that life grants me an opportunity to come back here in the future. The reserve experience was not entirely satisfactory to me, but of course this is out of their control since animals are roaming free in the 15,000 hectares… I did get to see elephants, giraffes, a cheetah, beautiful birds and antílopes
