I extended one more night at this stay and I was able to remain in the same room. I am very grateful for that. The room is as described. Spacious Japanese traditional room with tatami on the floor.

The walls can be thin and noise did travelled thorough the walls, especially when your neighbors had a wild night. LOL.

Location is excellent. Close to Sakai train station and other public transits. The room is as described. Amazing owner and friendly staff. Overall, I really like this Japanese traditional stay experience.

The walls can be a little thin and I could hear the neighbors wild night through the walls. And because I slept on the tatami on the floor, the sounds really amplified. LOL.

Lovely tiny inn at the back of a cafe on one of Sakai's main boulevards - about 10min walk from the (Nankai, airport line) train station, and 10-15min walk from the craft museum and lots of knifesmiths. A smallish entertainment area with lots of small restaurants across the road. The tram to Tennoji in Osaka stops 100m away. All in all, a perfect location in a lovely old house in a town that looks a bit generic at first. The inn is traditional style, so tatami, futon on the floor (which I knew but had to get used to again, they can be a bit hard if you are used to Western style beds). Small shower and toilet, separately , Japanese style, spotlessly clean, and a very pleasant cafe out front. I presume many people come to Sakai for the knives (like me) of the kofun. For knifes and old town area it is very well located, for the kofun, it's a fair hike/bus trip of at least an hour. HAd I had more time I would have hired bicycles at the tourist information at the train station (Nankai) because SAkai, as the home of Shimano, is just made for cycling!

Nothing, really. Futons can be hard at first (my bad for booking traditional room) and the person in the cafe spoke no English but called someone who could speak English so be aware you may need to use a translation app if you don't speak JApanese.

The cafe itself was very lovely, and the staff very helpful and attentive. Really nice Japanese breakfast. The room was small but very authentic with tatami mats etc

The service was great! I was a bit too late for my check-in, but the host kindly came back as quick as possible to help me get in the house. It was such a beautiful room and everything was nice and clean. Unfortunately I came in very late and had to leave early in the dark the next morning, so I could not enjoy the nice little garden. The lights in front of the building were very welcoming though!

Everything was good, nothing to complain.

The traditional tatami room was homey and charming. The bath and toilet were clean and contemporary. The breakfast was delicious and our hostess was attentive and friendly.

We really have no complaints but you will need to be comfortable sleeping on a traditional Futon and sitting on tatami to enjoy staying here. If you plan to use JR trains for coming and going, the location is not ideal. But there is a trolley station (chin-chin-densha) right outside the hotel and a Nankai train station 5 minutes away.

Location plus room was cozy .
