guest house Telavi XXI

The guesthouse itself was a beautiful building with well managed facilities. It is within walking distance to the castle. The host was very nice and as I arrived he offered me some of his homemade wine which was delicious.

Unfortunately the guesthouse is situated on the street with some noisy traffic.

The beds were comfortable. The location was okay. It was in a quiet neighborhood. 20 minutes walk to town. There was a shared kitchen, but was also dingy, and there was no coffee or tea as was common in the other guest houses we stayed in.

We arrived, and the room was filthy. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned since the last guest. There were buildings supplies in the room. I complained, and the room was cleaned, but it was a ramshackle room with thin walls. We heard snoring all night, and there wasn't a room next to us. The lighting was a bare bulb and there was one outlet in the room.The curtains were as thin as tissue and didn't keep the light out. We read rave reviews about the hosts, but we saw them for 30 seconds at the beginning and end of the stay. They spoke not a word of English. I don't need to make friends with the hosts, but the reality and the reviews could not have been more different. We have been in Georgia for two weeks, and this was the worst guest house, by far.
