This was a really nice surprise! we wasn't sure what to expect but apart from having a bit of difficulty finding the location, everything else was great! It's quite a small resort but that added to it's charm, it was very quiet and peaceful! the pool was lovely, right outside our bungalow, which was BIG! The small but lovely restaurant was really nice, great food and great value, the included breakfast was equally as good. There is easy access to a really good beach as well! then we come to the owners, they were so friendly and interesting to talk to thank you! I know they're planning more accomodation, we'll definately visit again!

Grand View Cottages is an amazing Eco retreat owned and run by a very welcoming couple Brian and Lea who give an intimate experience sharing their slice of paradise. The location is beautifully landscaped with some amazing animals to keep you company in the wilderness. The views of the ocean from the restaurant and bamboo lookout tower are spectacular with the elevation of the land towering over the sea with direct views to Apo Island. The beach is just a short stroll down the hill where you will find millions of star fish, coconut trees and a little Fishermans village. The restaurant has a very personal touch, and you are made to feel at home with fresh and delicious meals using fresh local produce from their property. You're likely to bump into the hosts at the restaurant and around the resort and hear their story about the journey to create this beautiful accommodation and their future plans. We thought we would need to buy food before staying at this place as the location is not close to shops but we were pleasantly surprised that the food prices were very reasonable at the restaurant and the quality was the best we experienced during our travels. Water was provided for no additional charge when we were there which as a pleasant surprise. We definitely were counting our lucky stars when we checked into this place and glad we did our research to find this place while still in our home country. The hosts can organise transport to this place if your book in advance and we highly recommend you organise transport ahead of time as its off the beaten track and we had a bit of trouble finding transport at short notice getting here from Zamboanguita which is not that far away. We would definitely stay here again and looking forward to doing so and regretted staying so long in Dumaguete when we could have been here! Best wishes, Justin and Debbie

Nothing really, I like the traditional bamboo cottages for the traditional Filipino experience. Just don't expect air conditioning as this is an eco resort in traditional style with a great ceiling fan.

Grand view it is, peaceful, cozy, good food and great place to unwind with dear ones. Love the presence of friendly dogs. Sure you will miss this place and be back.

The Owners are very friendly and helpful, we had some very nice talking with them, the Location of the Hotel is very special, quiet, close to the beach suroundet by nature. You just hear the Birds singing :) The food was also very good and cheap !

Food allright (but to be paid seperatly). Garden and view from garden very nice. Nearby lonely beach quite nice for snorkeling on high tide and almost 'private' (no other tourists seen in that area).

We did not get the sea-view bungalow with balcony sea front we have booked and prepaid (for higher price). As already occupied by another guest. Even after discussions with owner/manager and in addition via booking.com they finally refused to pay back the difference in rate between prepaid and received. Plus with some items from menu card rate first different and confusing on bill (to be carefully checked). And on 1st day the owner himself was making a lot of noise by loud techno-music about 6am; all very strange for us as also in hotel business long term experienced frequent travellers.

Great location, great food...ideal place to chill out with the breaking of the waves that can be heard in the distance, and enchanting birdsong emanating from the trees. .Many nice shrubs and flowers lovingly planted throughout the resort give it a touch of paradise. The days may be hot but the constant breeze from the ocean cool things down considerably ...

Beautiful quiet location with magnificent ocean views to the east and mountain views to the north. Short walk to the local beach. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Lovely garden with a few chickens and friendly goats. The small on-site restaurant has an extensive menu with excellent cooking and service.

Be aware that the property is a little isolated if you do not have your own transport. However, the host family was very helpful in providing transport to and from and the on-site restaurant is very good.

I like the place, location, view, setup. Friendly staff, nice pool.
