Guest House Toranjyo-lit

Beautiful garden and good view. It was very special to be able to have a glimpse of traditional japanese interior and culture of everyday life. Very kind people who were taking care. We were given a nice breakfast with local kaki Marmelade and umbrellas for the rain we were not so good prepared for.

The guest house is a lovely little traditional house on the edge of town. It is very friendly with personal attention when you arrive and while staying there. The house is beautiful with Japanese bedding and bathroom facilities. There is a little kitchen with a fridge you can use. There is a shared dining area and lots of tourist information available.

It is quite a long walk from the station or ferry port and a little difficult to find on the first visit. The bathroom is downstairs and for upstairs rooms this is a steep staircase.

Kanske lite långt att gå från stationen, men egentligen inget problem. Vi fick också skjuts ner till stationen på vår sista dag.

The guesthouse is WONDERFUL, so comfortable ... I felt at home. The room was spacious and it felt like a welcome relief. I loved the flexibility to use the fridge, make tea, wander in the yukata, do laundry. It just felt like everything was easy.

This has been mentioned before, but it is a thing (and the only con) - the walls are so thin. If someone arrives late, you will hear it (and every bit of their "getting settled" conversation). If someone snores, you will hear it. The rooms are private, but you can hear everything. It made it hard to sleep. But really, the place was SO WONDERFUL, I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

A friendly genuine ryokan shared room experience in a lovely place. The host was very welcoming and helpful.
