Green Sunshine Homestay

Absolutely loved their bait and switch! Am enamoured with their irresponsibility and incompetence!

Everything. Booked Green Sunshine through Booking.com and WhatsApp-ed owner the day of my arrival to confirm my stay and inform her of my estimated checkin time. Upon arrival, I was met with an incoherent mumble of excuses that basically amounted to "We have no rooms" The owner even had the gall to offer me their laundry drying area as accommodations, which had no cooling, lock or any other semblance of a habitable space. After a gruelling three-hour ride from Ben Tre, my disoriented and exhausted self was in some secluded corner of an alien town, in the dark, and homeless. Perhaps fearing that I'd write such a review (which I'm doing anyway), the owner 'helpfully' introduced me to a nearby hotel, all while trying to upsell me into buying her Floating Market tour. Lost and exasperated, with a 5:30am tour booked for the next morning, I grudgingly paid and checked into the random hotel. It was only then did the red flags start sounding- this place had zero online presence, the staff spoke zero English and had zero smiles. It's a miracle that I had zero things stolen. Couldn't have been more relieved to checkout the next morning. Some might say she tried her best in service recovery, but if I wanted to stay in some sus sex hotel, I would have just booked a sus sex hotel. My entire experience just reeks of this owner's irresponsibility. There were so many opportunities to prevent this. Not taking my booking, not confirming the availability of my room on WhatsApp, notifying me of last-minute issues prior to my arrival. Oh and for those wondering, the sex hotel was terrible- sheets were scratchy, decor was so 1970s and staff were grumpy. Would give Green Sunshine a negative five stars if I could.

The location was a little far away from the center.

Very friendly host and nice room with airconditioning.

Bed was a bit hard and the facilities were so-so. Its a little bit far from town so you will need to order a Grab or rent a motorbike.

really quiet and calm

The place is really cute and as it is not in the Center of town,so it's nice and and quiet. Still walkable distance to town/ restaurants/ Cafés. Everything was clean and the owners are really nice and helpful with booking tours, Taxis and giving food recommendations. And they have free bicycles as well. Can only recommend. Thanks

This homestay is really homey and has very pleasant decoration! The family is very peaceful and the host helped me so much booking buses and everything I wanted to do, and finding good food. I felt very much at home here. The homestay is in a quiet area but you can bike anywhere with the free bikes they lend you. Thanks so much for having me and being great hosts!!! <3

This is what everybody is looking for when booking a homestay. We were treated like family, they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and helped us through the reservation of a bus to Saigon and visit at the floating market and Mekong Delta. We basically did nothing, she took care of transportation, taxi and all. Location is perfect, just outside of the city centre which is easy to reach by motorbike or bicycle. They lent us two bikes for free, a gesture very much appreciated. Also she really was keen on making us understand their culture by telling us some curious aspect of Vietnamese life style and letting us try some of their traditional dishes and fruits. Definitely recommend it! Don't miss this chance.

We had an amazing stay at Green sunshine! Our room was very pretty, very clean, had good AC and WiFi. There were 2 shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen, also super clean and well equipped. Aside from this, our host was so nice and helpful! She offered to help us with everything: she booked a floating market tour for us and also arranged for our bus back to Ho Chi Minh city. She's very knowledgeable about the Mekong area and Can Tho so she gives very good travel advice. Overall, I think this is an awesome place to stay in Can Tho and I fully recommend it to all travellers!
