Location, nice and responsive host, room and bathroom looked nice.

Room smelt like cigarettes, the sink and the showerhead need to be fixed, turist tax not included in the price.

Nice place in a perfect location, just in the middle between the city center and the train station. Five minutes walking from the amazing evening city life of Catania, five minutes walking from the train station where public bus to Etna starts - so you will be first in the line to secure your spot in the morning. Old house with a soul. Good choice for visiting Catania.

The owner and "staff" were nice and were reassuring. The building was nice looking for a last-minute flight cancellation, which wasn't bad for the area.

The floor was absolutely filthy and stick in places, could not walk bare foot in our own room, the building keys we were given only one key to the room worked but also worked on all other neighbours doors which puts safety and privacy at huge risk, spoke about it to owner but she assured that its not an issue or hasn't been (didn't appreciate our concern) this also meant the two other keys didn't work and we couldn't enter or leave the building without letting the owner know by WhatsApp which I'm not a fan of announcing when we aren't there. the oven didn't work but had a elecric tabletop unit, the balcony was connected to next door so we had kids running up and looking into our room which also meant we couldn't open the door out of privacy and safety of our belongings too. We were told to help ourselves to the cupboard which was nice! However the coffee machine was ridden with mold as it hasn't been cleaned for a long time.

Stinks of cigarettes, very dirty and dusty, hair and dust ball in the room,which landlord said it’s overlooked, dirty ashtray on balcony of our room, kitchen is on second floor through a spiral stairs which were all dirty as well, overall kitchen was horrible and open to a balcony so stray cat was living there, small fridge which belonged to someone and had bugs in it, leftover food found on stove, kitchenware looked dirty and warn off, we had to cancel the 17nights stay and just stay 1 day so we can find better place, but landlord said they don’t allow 1 night so we have to go or stay minimum 2-3 nights. Very unpleasant!!! I have photos and vids to prove all and trust me they are nothing like advertised. When i told the landlord the corridor and stairs leading to the kitchen are not as on the photos they said “those are changes the room looks the same right?” So bags with rubbish are just changes… terrible!

price good, convenient to station, room nice, terrace nice. I chose it because of the price and close to the station because I was going to Mt Etna. Note, some websites say the Mt Etna bus leaves at 8:15. I was told it now leaves around 8am.

The place was fine, and the price was great, (43US in mid June). maybe 6 blocks or so from the station. What I didn't realize was that it is on the 4th floor by american standards (3rd Fl. European) and the last flight up is a metal staircase. Room size was excellent, with an extra room, and plenty of space. There was a little Chinese refrigerator, but it wasn't even plugged in (so I plugged it in). Even after a day, that little fridge never got more than one degree colder than the ambient temperature. They should get rid of that fridge and get one that's cold, and keep it plugged in. The rest of the kitchen was functional, and there's a nice little terrace with a rack for drying clothes. Historic downtown area with restaurants begins about 8-10 blocks away. I would stay again for the price and location, except for the stairs and the fridge, it was nice.
