Jet Black Jewel

Location was great, had breakfast in the cafe below which was very nice, room was spacious with some nice touches and lovely view of the Abbey, great size bathroom and comfortable bed

We chose one of the larger rooms so there is stairs to climb and you have to be on the ball with parking at certain times

The room was nice. The accommodation was centrally placed Parking ticket was provided I was contacted by text to check all was well The key codes worked easily

It would have been nice to be offered free drinks in the restaurant both days of the stay The service in the restaurant was slow and we didn’t feel particularly welcome

Our stay at the Jet Black Jewel was brilliant. We stayed in the Hand of Glory room which was nicely decorated and furnished with a quirky vibe (which we loved). The room was super clean and the facilities provided were excellent. A nice touch with coffee and tea was appreciated. The hotel location was ideal, close to the main attractions and some lovely shops and pubs. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we’d come back again!

Well situated for local attractions, restaurants, bars and shops. Easy to access building and room with electronic codes. Bit of a climb to top floor with luggage but worth it for the abbey view! Quiet, clean and comfortable. Nice bathroom. I managed to park in a “W” zone directly behind hotel using permit supplied. Staff very helpful.

If you use the adjacent cafe, it’s one free coffee/tea per stay rather than per day.

Room is on the main road and single glazed windows, which meant we were able to hear all traffic and people passing throughout the night. Bed frame could also be updated as creaked with every movement from the other person sharing with you.

Property was well located and the room was extremely clean and comfortable. Room was a little tight but it was as advertised. There is no reception but messages from "owners" were comprehensive and self explanatory together with a welcome text to check we were ok.

Location was brilliant. Bed was comfortable. Room was extremely clean. Parking was a bit confusing as were told to park in Silver Street to unload but there were never any spaces. Parking also in a W Zone but we found to our dissatisfaction that the W zones don't always go the whole length of the parking area. It was pouring with rain so we moved closer only to find without knowing we had gone into a H zone. Anyway our fault for not double checking but it was not obvious either and of course not the fault of the property.
