Weligama Imal Guest House

I loved the vibe of the property and its lovely managers. The room was really clean, with a comfy bed and mosquito net, the shower was powerful, mirrors, plenty shelving and sockets. Importantly, there was a great ceiling fan, plus a large balcony - great for relaxing and drying clothes. There are chairs and benches outside to socialise or be alone, and the managers are helpful and super strong carrying your heavy luggage up the stairs! They genuinely care about visitors, and have a good sense of humour. The kitchen is huge and clean with ample crockery and cutlery, a big fridge freezer, gas stove, kettle, toaster and washing machine. It’s a very short walk to the beach, and really close to the supermarket, quality restaurants, and the town centre. It’s all true! Anytime I’m in Weligama, I’d stay here for comfort, friendliness and familiarity. Done deal - I suggest others do the same and stay here! Lesley.

Die Unterkunft hatte eine gute Lage zum Strand. Innerhalb von wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Das Zimmer war groß, das Bad war gut ausgestattet und der Balkon war schön. An sich ist die Anlage gepflegt.

Leider lag die Unterkunft direkt neben dem Bahngleisen. Ab morgens 5 Uhr sind dort regelmäßig Züge lautstark, hupend vorbeigefahren. Auch wenn die Wände schallisoliert seien, bringt ein Fenster, welches man nicht schließen kann und große Lücken zwischen den Türen nichts. Es war sehr hellhörig. Das Personal bzw. den einen jungen Mann, welchen wir dort nur gesehen haben, war sehr unaufmerksam, und sehr auf sein Telefon fokussiert sodass kein Good Morning oder Hello zurück kam.

The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable, plus the staff were really kind and helpful, I recommend it :)

Short walk to the beach, restaurants of Weligama. Nice gardens and friendly staff. Room was spacious, good storage, comfy bed with mosquito net and great air-conditioning.
