Villa Wirnica Lake Como

The property is very charming and well maintained. The garden and swimming pool are great and we enjoyed it each afternoon after our visits. The hosts are helpful with everything, making visits advices and restaurants reservations for us. Breakfast is good with many homemade dishes.

We booked the Suite Junior Deluxe but it shouldn’t be called deluxe for some reasons : - it is very dark with small windows and a low ceiling. - The bathroom is not part of the room, we had to go outside in the corridor to another door. We didn’t feel comfortable with it. Customers should be informed of this specificity at time of booking. - The air conditioning is a mobil unit, which is working well however it is noisy and necessitates to keep the window opened for the hose. So we also heard the noise of the street, with the cars etc… As the window was always opened, we couldn’t turn on the light in the evenings, in order to not let mosquitos in.

Wirnica was a hidden treasure when we arrived. The gate opened to a beautiful courtyard and we were greeted by Chan who gave us a refreshing drink and showed us to our rooms. We cannot recommend this place enough. Barbara, who owns Wirnica, is very gifted with hospitality and takes so much care to make sure everything is perfect, even the breakfast was made with things she grew in her garden. We love it here and can’t wait to come back.

Wirnica is an absolute hidden gems. The place looks beautiful on pictures but the hotel is even more magical in person. It is decorated with italian antiques, fresh flowers and plants everywhere which really add to the atmosphere. It is part of an old monastery so you hear bells throughout the day which is so special. It is a family ran business and service was impeccable. Guilla was super attentive and kind. My spouse and I stayed at Wirnica for our elopement and the owner allowed us to do a small ceremony in the back garden. It was truly a dream! They also allowed to checkout late so we could enjoy the pool. I cannot recommend this place enough!

We had an absolutely stunning stay at Wirnica. Everything was just perfect. Barbra and the rest of the staff looked after us so well and everyone was so friendly and kind. We got engaged in Lake Como and they really made our stay extra special and one we’ll remember forever. The villa grounds are so stunning and the villa itself is charming and has so much character. We will definitely be back.

Our room was a little dark, not much natural light and we found a few hairs in the bathroom.

The atmosphere of this historic villa is truly mesmerizing. We already had our expectations high before coming, but the experience was even better than expected. The house, the garden, the vibe, the owners. Everything is there to make you feel like you're somewhere else, where you can dream and relax — highly recommended.

One slight thing that could be improved is coffee, would love to get some better coffee in the morning:)

This was an exceptional place and by far the highlight of our stay in the Como region. It felt like being at home, and we really felt the traditional Italian culture throughout our three days. The room was absolutely unbelievable and we wished we had spent a few more days as it was so relaxing. The breakfast was outstandingly delicious, with so much choice and fresh food made the chef. The owner was so accommodating and we loved hearing about the history of the property. Cannot recommend this place more. So much nicer than staying a large, touristy hotel. This was intimate, romantic and familial.
