Claudio and his wife have done a fabulous job with this place and really looked after us, making us feel very welcome. They gave us some great recommendations as well!

Everything. From the beautifully quiet location in the heart of Constantia, to the warm and accommodating staff and owners. This is the best guesthouse we have stayed in. Our room was massive and beautifully appointed. If you are looking to stay in the southern suburbs, there is no need to look further than Dongola guesthouse.

The house is superb, exquisitely decorated and located in one of the most beautiful corner of Constantia. Fine dining restaurants, Constantia Village, wine route, and touristic hotspots are all at a short driving distance. The room is big, well laid out and with a personal touch that makes you feel at home. I didn’t have time to explore the outside space of the guesthouse but you have the impression of walking into Kirstenbosch gardens as soon as you step outside your room. Wide selection at breakfast, both cold and warm, served with a big smile by the guesthouse’s friendly staff. To top it all up, Claudio and Karen are amazing hosts! Thank you for having me

The wonderful balance of Swiss hospitality, practicality and elegant decoration. Very convenient to walk to Uitsig Wine estate. Claudio and Karin were very friendly and welcoming. Happy to suggest great restaurants, and other practical advice. Amazing breakfasts too. Happy to stay in future.

I had the most incredible time at Dongola House! Our stay was beyond amazing, and it wasn't just because of the spacious and impeccably clean rooms that were tended to every day. Natalie, in particular, stood out as a genuinely warm and kind individual who consistently checked in on us, ensuring our comfort and happiness throughout our stay. The breakfasts at Dongola House were not only delicious but also served promptly, setting the tone for each day. The variety of options available was simply astounding. What truly amazed me was the meticulous attention to detail that the staff exhibited. They even noticed my preference against bananas without me having to mention it – talk about going the extra mile! The small touches truly made this trip unforgettable. From thoughtfully setting out two cups for my mother and me to being readily available to cater to our needs, the entire team demonstrated an unparalleled level of dedication to our satisfaction. What's more, our room was graciously upgraded without any extra charge, allowing my mother and me to stay right next to each other. Even though we visited during the winter when occupancy was low, the exceptional level of service remained consistent and outstanding. I can only imagine how stunning Dongola House would be in the summer – a true home away from home, no matter the season. To sum it up, Dongola House offers an experience that goes above and beyond expectations. With its remarkable hosts, top-notch staff, and attention to even the smallest details, it's an oasis of comfort and luxury. My mother and I would undoubtedly choose to stay here again, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable getaway.

The Dongola is a beautiful guesthouse in a very safe, very quiet part of Constantia. The rooms are all separated so it seems like you have the place to yourself, the breakfasts are perfect, and the hospitality is fantastic. Groot Constantia estate is a nice distance walk away through the vineyards, and ubers are very easy to get around here in case walking back is a struggle..! If we were to visit Constantia again, we'd definitely stay at the Dongola!

Breakfast was Amazing. The efford made to leave food in the Kitchen for us, when we had to run the Two oceans Marathon early was great. Friendliness of yourself and Staff was really nice. The room was nice and clean and the bed and pillows comfortable.

Suggestion to owner: Place water in room every day, not only on arrival. Make sure there is enough toiletpaper. Your TV plug is on during loadshedding, but the DSTV is not working, I suggest linking as the TV is already on. Suggest booking guests in via front door and not at the back, it is just much more impressive (First impressions). Replacing your blankets with new ones. Garden Staff, not answering phone calls next to rooms where guests are perhaps trying to take a nap.
