Jasmine Garden Beach Guest House

The hotel is literally on the beautiful sandy beach and during our visit in late March we had the beach to ourselves, it was fab! Our host was very friendly and helpful and our breakfasts plentiful and varied. Our room was a good size with a wardrobe and coat rack, and bedside tables. The air con was a blessing ! The balcony was a good size and had a table and two chairs. We had a side sea view room and it was quiet even tho the road was very near. The walk from the hotel along the beach to the main area with bars, shops, etc took about 20mins. Just a warning that the waves are very strong here and it’s not a “swim” area but shallow enough to enjoy getting wet in the surf.

A lovely place with comfortable rooms. The location was perfect, not too busy in the surrounding area but still some great restaurants and bars around it. And the hotel itself was lovely and we spent many hours relaxing downstairs by the beach. Wonderful food and hospitality too!

Everything was great! Location great, near the Ocean, got your private beach zone. Food, service and most important-staff! They are example of how nice Sri Lankan people are. They are very friendly, helpful with everything. Definition of good person. Hotel and rooms was in great condition. No need to worry about heat, there was fan.

There wasnt things that we dont like.

The location was great - quiet area with direct access to the beach.

Without aircons it was quite hot in the rooms and if you open the windows everything getting wet immediately.

The room is just in front of the beach, the place is amazing! You Will have this beautiful sound of the ocean in the background which is wonderful! The owner is super kind and she really cares about the guests!

Beach was nice. Bathroom was okay, it was leaking but renovated.

I booked the deluxe room with sea side view. The photos on Booking are misleading, you can barely see the sea. We tried to communicate this with the staff, but it wasn’t a friendly conversation. The room was super noisy because it is closer to the main road than the sea:/ There was no fridge in the room, so you cannot even have cold water to drink. The restaurant was overpriced. The included breakfast was okay. Overall, we didn’t feel welcomed. The staff was not super nice to us.

Don’t let the 2 stars fool you, this is a great little family run hotel right on the beach. In a quiet part of Hikkaduwa but only 500 rupee if you wanted a tuktuk to the busier surf spot beach with its plethora of restaurants.

No fridge but they did put my water in the kitchen fridge.
