Ruuk Village

Excellent food, caring people, clean cabanas, quiet place

As soon as we arrived at this beautiful place we immediately felt so peaceful and relaxed. Everything is kept very easy, but it just has everything you need. We loved the outdoor bathroom, the breeze coming through our cabana, the hammocks all around and the delicious food. Jeewani and the team took care of everything in the background, they even helped us organizing a dolphin tour. We'd love to come back and stay longer than 3 nights only. Thanks so much for creating this truly special village.

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in Ruuk Village. Das Essen war super, jeden Tag gab es ein neues Gericht zum probieren. Das Personal ist auch sehr nett. Die Strandhütten ein Traum. Ein toller Ort um die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Ich hoffe wir können eines Tages wieder kommen…

Nichts

Ideal place to relax away from the hustle and bustle but within easy walking into the town. Kalpitiya is a working town rather than a tourist town. The food was cooked fresh each day with a variety of Sri Lankan food. All the staff were lovely. Although we don’t kite surf we went out in the boat to the sandbar to swim in the sea and sunbathe - there is also a shelter for shade. This is a really special place and perfect for anyone looking to be surrounded by nature. Ruuk Village supports the local community creating opportunities for people to learn and develop skills.

There are a lot of mosquitoes so be prepared with suitable protection. Coils are provided for your room and the dining area, so don’t let this put you off!

Nichts. Man sollte nur wissen, dass der Strand nicht zum Baden einlädt. Für Kitesurfer aber wohl ideal.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ruuk Village. Beautiful location surrounded by nature. The people are incredibly friendly and helped us book activities. Every evening, they cooked delicious meals. Highly recommended for peace and nature!

This is THE location if you like an off the grid local Sri Lankan experience! For me it was an amazing and unforgettable stay. The staff, the town, the food, the culture and of course all the kind people around the area🙏🏻🙌🏼. everything was so pure and untouched! The place is very close to the Lagoon so great for kitesurfing! I enjoyed that very much. If you want to have a good experience during your time in Sri Lanka i highly recommend staying at Ruuk Village. You will not regret it! I already miss the Samaposha (typical sri lankan breakfast/sweet snack) 😁

Be aware that you sleep in nature and can experience some sounds of animals or even small animals coming in your house. But its nature! I didn’t mind it. But maybe its not for everyone. You can bring earplugs if necessary! And if there is something you don’t like during your stay, just let the local team know and they will help you with lots of love ❤️ From the bottom of my heart i thank everyone from the team for giving me this beautiful and unforgettable experience!

Ruuk è un posto magico, immerso in una piantagione di palme da cocco e affacciato sulla laguna. Il punto di forza è sicuramente il team! Anime meravigliose del posto pronte a fare tutto ciò che possono per assicurarti la miglior esperienza possibile. Il cibo è delizioso, esclusivamente ingredienti freschi comprati ogni giorno al mercato locale e se sei interessato il team sarà felice di farti partecipare a una cooking class. Ruuk è un posto che ti rimane nel cuore, se sei pronto a vivere a stretto contatto con la natura in modo ecosostenibile! mi piacerebbe tornare e stare più a lungo
