Lynster House

Wow, Elizabeth, you have a gem of a property located close to town with lovely surrounding countryside. We arrived extremely late at night and you were there to welcome us, as tired as we were, we could not have asked for a better welcome. We had a wonderful room with all amenities and bathroom needs waiting for us. A wonderful night's sleep was had on a very comfortable bed. On our two days stay Elizabeth prepared a very personal breakfast for us each morning that was to die for. We left well fed for the day. With nice grounds to sit out in the sunshine or the guests personal reading room, adequate on-site parking. We wished we could have stopped longer but we had to head off to a certain Golf tournament that was being held at Royal Portrush. We look forward to returning at the first opportunity. Having to leave and unsure when we will be able to return as we live in Australia but we are due to return next year and will look to return again as we have relatives in Monahan and will plan our trip to ensure we do not need to stay in a hotel but at Lynster House.

The house’s forniture is elegant and cosy. Elizabeth is an excellent host. She’ll take care of you in the most thoughtful, warm and kind way possible. Don’t miss her gorgeous and exquisite Irish breakfast!

Beautiful, pastoral location. Art work was amazing. Grounds were lovely.

This beautiful property, located in Co. Monaghan, was a delight. The owner, Elizabeth, is lovely and we had a great time talking with her and learning about Ireland, and Monaghan. She is a phenomenal chef - our breakfasts were different each day and homemade by Elizabeth using locally sourced everything. Delicious!!! Our room was comfy and had a beautiful view of the garden. We were minutes from the city center and had a yummy dinner at one of the local restaurants (Andy's Bar - know for it's award winning Gins). The area was gorgeous and we spent most of a day exploring the nearby Rossmore Forest Park. It had many walking trails dotted with art installations. We could have stayed all day but wanted to explore the city center as well.

Nothing! It was a fabulous visit all around. We did not get enough time to see everything.

Elizabeth was a great host; she provided a home-cooked breakfast with locally sourced ingredients from Monaghan, which was fantastic. The rooms were cute and cozy. The bathroom was large, and the shower was very friendly, with excellent water pressure. This was our first overnight stay in Ireland in a commercial, non-hotel environment. We didn't know what to expect from the B&B experience, and overall, it was great. Our host was very knowledgeable of things to do and places to stay in the other cities of Ireland we were traveling to.

Our group was inexperienced when dining at breakfast and, at times, felt a little clumsy with all of the options offered. There were items during breakfast that we did not finish, but we tried everything offered. It was all delicious just different from our normal preferences.
