La Maison Eco House & Yoga

It feels like coming home on a little island. Very friendly and chill staff and owners. Fresh and tasty breakfast. Close to the beach for surfing. I was sad to leave this amazing place.

On the booking site it appeared to be a great yoga / nice place but in the end the pictures were very misleading and the experience was that of just above a surf camp hostel. The pool is literally a dipping pool and it was full of dust and dirt and not even inviting. Also no air and very loud all ngt sounds. Dogs, cars, motorcycles, people. Agh!!

With high certainty we had had money stolen from our room on day 2 and on day 3 I set a pictured backpack trap to really see if someone was trying to get into my backpack that was in the closet where no one should have been and in fact it was once again moved and manipulated. Fortunately it Was locked that time. Additionally seems the management is not really focused on the guest experiences. No milk provided for coffee, towels were smelly and we were somewhat shamed for asking for new ones, no yoga scheduled in the lobby which led to us missing the class. I’d suggest the owner have his management staff work more on improving the non surfing guest experiences. Seems the surfers and kite surfers were fine.

I really loved our host, she made us feel like home.

The pictures give an image of the entire place being bigger (especially pool) and a little higher standard. But it was still really amazing.

La maison is an Oasis of calm in the busy town of Mancora. The property is beautiful, the rooms comfortable and the breakfast delicious. The price is low for what you get. Additionally, Tanya the owner is the sweetest. She will hook you up with the best recommendation and is very helpful and attentive. I left for one day to go join some friends at an another hotel, but it was so noisy I came back to La Maison right away. I can only recommend this place!

The place is just amazing, we really had a wonderful time there, everything is just like the pictures or better. I wish I would have more time to spend over there. We were received by Tania ❤️ she was very helpful and kind

The staff was friendly and nice. Tania was great, and we have positive things to say about her.

Our room was situated in the center of the house and suffered from poor sound insulation. We could hear everything happening around us, resulting in a complete lack of privacy. Other guests we spoke with shared similar concerns. The breakfast, while fresh every morning, was predetermined and repetitive. It lacked diversity and offered limited alternatives, especially for guests who don't eat eggs. The room's cleanliness was substandard. We found a significant amount of sand on the floor and noticeable dirt marks on the mosquito net. The room featured a shared bathroom and shower. On the final evening of our stay, we discovered a large cockroach in the shower. Had we noticed it earlier, we would have requested a different room or considered alternative accommodation.

Quiet location; good breakfast

Both Máncora and the hostel were not my cup of tea. Probably should have looked better into both. Máncora felt like a tourist trap, the hostel basic compared to what I paid at the places I stayed earlier on my trip. Some additional information for those considering booking the hostel: - if you share a bathroom you might have to get down stairs and cross the premises to arrive at the bathroom (might be a little bit unpractical at night) - you can literally hear everything that goes on in your neighbors’ room - it’s situated in a quiet area of Máncora, but this also means it’s at the outskirts of the town.

Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good location -- quiet but close enough to everything you need.
