La Maison Eco House & Yoga

The interior design of La Maison is delightful, creating an inviting atmosphere. The common area is thoughtfully adorned with books, offering a cozy space to unwind. Guests are provided with complimentary water and tea, along with towels in the rooms and mosquito nets over the beds, adding to the comfort and convenience of the stay. 5min walk to the beach.

However, our experience was marred by a significant lack of reception staff during our 4-night stay. At no point during the day was anyone available at the front desk. The establishment is owned by a Frenchman who relies on volunteers to manage the place. Unfortunately, during our visit, both volunteers were unwell. It was the owner's responsibility to ensure that someone was present to assist guests in their absence, but this was not addressed. Additionally, when we inquired about transportation from Piura, neither the owner nor staff were able to provide any guidance. They were unfamiliar with the bus companies and could not direct us to the bus stop in Piura. Even upon arrival in Máncora, when we asked the remaining volunteer about the location of the local bus stop, she was unaware. Ironically, I ended up informing her where it was the following day. Moreover, from the perspective of fair and sustainable business practices, it would be far more beneficial for both the local community and the Peruvian economy if permanent employment opportunities were offered to locals or residents of Máncora. Employing someone from the area on a permanent contract would allow locals to genuinely benefit from tourism, fostering economic growth and improving their standard of living, rather than relying on temporary foreign volunteers.

So peaceful and chill, beautiful place! Really good breakfast every day and such nice staff.

Highly recommend the place. Its serene atmosphere and location make the place a genuine oasis and haven from the world. The location is a huge plus, hidden from the busty Mancora allowing to take a breath and just relax, the beach is just few steps away which gives an opportunity to enjoy the place fully. Though what's more important - it's the people that make the atmosphere, and the whole staff is extremely helpful and welcoming. You really feel that people care, which make the experience even more serene.

I had a lovely stay at La Maison. Upon booking I very quickly received a message from the host Tania to help me plan my trip. She was extremely helpful and so welcoming upon my arrival and during my stay. She also helped me plan my surf classes which were booked via the great Pilar Surf School, a 6 min walk from the hostel. La Maison is a beautiful place and so impressive in the way it is built. You have a private room but the place still encourages interactions with other guests. The breakfast was also great. I cannot recommend enough.

Great location and amazing hosts. Spacious and comfortable rooms. We had the largest room in the place with a king size bed and comfy mattress. The host Tania is also an amazing person. She is friendly and knowledgeable about the area and goes above and beyond in giving advice on activities and restaurants and helping you book them.

The staff was excellent and the room was very clean always.

The best part is honestly the feel of the place and the staff. Everything about our stay was great but Tanya was especially helpful with her recommendations and accommodations, meeting our every need. The location is only a few minutes from town and provides a much quieter and more secluded environment. Strongly recommend
