SIMA inn - Onomichi

Location is good and the terrace is a bonus

It was not easy to get into the accommodation. You have to go to another building a few minutes walk away to check in. Also the stairs in the accommodation is steep and can be slippery so not easy with heavy cases.

The room style is nice

The name of the room is misleading. It features „private bathroom“, but it doesn’t include a private toilet! That was a big surprise to know that the toilet is shared. Child had a free stay in the Booking price, but the stuff didn’t provide an additional bed and asked to pay more for that. Sound isolation is very poor. Check in is required to be done at another location.

Best place we've stayed in Japan. Location was fantastic and the room was exactly what we were looking for, the perfect vibe.

Everything was perfect, nice and comfy. One of the best hostels we had during our trip in Japan.

Loved the location in the old part of town. So close to a big selection of intimate eateries.

Room was a bit cramped with 3 beds in it, nowhere to put luggage.

The location of the apartment is nice for walking around Onomichi.

We found a large cockroach running around the room. We killed it, but then noticed a can of insecticide on the bedside table, meaning this probably wasn't a rare occurrence. We also felt the check in procedure would be vastly improved if we were able to check in with a staff member rather than the Ipad at the nearby hostel. Getting into the building and locating our room was confusing. If we're required to walk up to the hostel to check in, why not have us check in with a staff member.

Needed WiFi to go through the process of checking in at a different location with a tablet stored in a metal box. Luckily a nice man at the bar helped us out.
