Peacock Villa Resort

The family who own the villa are so kind, helpful & welcoming. They cooked us home- cooked Sri Lanka meals for breakfast, lunch & dinner- it was delicious! The pool area is fabulous. We also booked the safari with our hosts and it was amazing. Definitely recommend staying here if you plan on visiting Udawalawa National Park.

Absolutely exceptional value for money. The hosts are so friendly and cooked us the most delicious dinner. You are very close to Udawalawe national Park and they can arrange a safari for you also. The swimming pool is a lovely added bonus.

Fabulous location - close to the national Park, the best pool that we found on our stay in Sri Lanka and lovely welcoming family and delicious food! The safari and transport organised by the team were exemplary!

It was very warm and humid plus we had a flu-type bug so suggest consider requesting an A/C room if you might struggle with the heat - ours didn’t have A/C nor insect screens so we were a little warm at night without the ability to open the windows but other rooms did have A/C

Wir hatten einen rundum gelungenen Aufenthalt. Für uns wurde ein Fahrer zu einem guten Preis ab Ella organisiert. Als wir ankamen wurden wir herzlich empfangen und der Eigentümer hat auch die Safari am Nachmittag mit uns gemacht. Die war wirklich klasse und er hat alles gegeben um uns eine gute Sicht auf Elefanten, Krokodile etc. zu geben. Abends und morgens konnte man gegen Aufpreis im Homestay essen - das war wirklich sehr lecker. Die Eigentümerin war auch so herzlich und hat uns viel über Sri Lanka und das Leben in Udawalawa erzählt. Wer eine familiäre Atmosphäre haben möchte ist hier genau richtig. Vielen Dank!

Ons verblijf was fantastisch! Een 10 wat ons betreft. Allereerst de gastvrijheid van Naleka, zijn vrouw Shiwanti en hun zoons. Zij zorgden met hun warmte voor een heerlijk verblijf en ze waren superlief voor onze kinderen. Ook lekker praktisch, ze hebben hun eigen winkeltje dus je kunt gewoon van alles ter plekke kopen qua (basis) boodschappen. Daarnaast, als je hier verblijft, dan kan Naleka je ook een safari aanbieden. Aansluitend kun je afkoelen in hun zwembad, dat is zeker na een warme safaridag echt een groot pluspunt. Na het zwemmen kun je heerlijk avondeten, Shiwanti en haar hulp maken een uitgebreid lokaal diner voor je (en ‘s ochtends ontbijt natuurlijk). Naleka heeft trouwens zelf een jeep en zal je meenemen het park in. Het park zelf is relatief rustig qua jeeps waardoor je niet in de rij staat als er bijv een olifant gespot wordt. Wij komen op zeker terug, dank voor ons topverblijf. Zie foto’s.

Skønne hjælpsomme værter, rent, beliggenhed i forhold til parken er super, værten var vores chauffør og guide, hvilket var fantastisk Godt poolområde Fantastisk mad på stedet

Owner (moms), made a delicious dinner with lots of different curry options (1800/person). She also kept trying to give me snacks from their shop which was nice haha. Very kind owners, you can tell. The pool is a great feature as well! Bed and pillows were comfy, shower had good pressure.

It’s far from town (20min drive), they’ll help you organize a tuktuk but you can’t really walk anywhere.
