Budget Guesthouse Borgustova

Comfortable self-catering guesthouse, very clean, with easy check in/out process via tourist information office, great location in village, walking distance to bus, supermarket, ferry to Vestmanna bird cliffs, and hiking trails, including beautiful arboretum in village. Excellent value.

It is fine budget place, room was quite good, comfortable for two. Comfortable to be able to use kitchen, common areas, location is fine as well.

Cleaning could be improved. It seemed that drinking water was not very good actually.

A decent price considering how expensive accomodation (and everything else) can be on the Islands. It is a budget share house, as advertised, so you should expect a small room. The downstairs common area is basically a very large house, with kitchen and dinning areas as well as an entrance hall and lounge room.

As expected, the noise level depends greatly and who else happens to be staying there. Is someone is in the room next to yours, you can hear everything they say and do through the thin walls and minimal doors. Of the 5 nights I stayed, the place was always full and there was always at least 1 person who didn't understand that they were making way too much noise.

The host was communicative over the phone.

Really disappointing value for money. Space was not clean enough (for example coffee stains on the table after previous quests, dust on floors) and some equipment was broken (light in the bathroom, sheets had holes in them).

The location was good. Living room was spacious.

The toilet was horrendous. Toilet seat needs to be thrown away asap. Ceiling is too low. Bathroom smelled super weird. It had not been aired in weeks. Dishes and glasses in the kitchen were also unwashed or too old. We paid 320 euros for 3 nights so this is unacceptable...

The friendly host is quite flexible and responsive. The surroundings offer hiking options, excursions and the beautiful village of Vestmanna itself. This is a budget-friendly private guesthouse with a confortable shared area (living rooms and kitchen), quite recommendable.

The check-in process at the local Visitors Centre in Vestmanna was excellent. The Guesthouse Manager was very helpful, friendly, and always approachable when answering all my enquiries. It is a superb location for the visitors centre, local museum, boat tours, hiking routes, and supermarket. It has excellent public transportation links to Torshavn and the airport from the village. It has excellent links to the visitors' centre and very friendly staff. Visitors Centre hours are open seven days a week AM - PM. There is excellent Wi-Fi and a comfortable dining room downstairs in the guesthouse. The Visitors Centre reimbursed the costs for washing up liquid, soap, and toilet roll without delay when purchased. Guests can self-cater and cook evening meals.

There was no running cold water from the kitchen tap, and kitchen bins were not emptied on arrival. I had to drink from the bathroom water tap to get cold water. The microwave was filthy before usage on arrival, and the toaster was broken and unusable. Washing up liquid, soap, and toilet roll were not provided on arrival. A dirty and used towel was left behind the door of my Room. The built-up limescale on the toilet seat, bathroom, sink, and shower is an adverse issue. Water leaks behind the shower basin, resulting in dirty water marks on the bathroom floor. Severe paint flacking from walls, most noticeable in the bathroom, bath, sink and shower basin. There is a low ceiling when using the toilet, and I hit my head on a low door frame several times. Attention should alerted to the booking concerning mobility access and disability. This concerns the steep stairwell in the guesthouse to access the rooms. Although I managed this well, this issue could have been a significant problem for some guests. Food left by previous guests in the kitchen should be checked regularly to ensure the used-by dates have not been exceeded, i.e., cereal is six months out of date. More kitchen and bathroom cleaning liquids and equipment are needed for guests to use during their stay. The front door downstairs should have been able to lock during night hours for safety and security reasons for guests staying at the Guesthouse.

Beautiful, cozy little house including everything you need.

Shower did leak a little bit but it wasn't too bad, so not reaaally a negative point

The town is very beautiful, literally at the end of the road. From the window of the room you can see the sea. The house is a little small, but cute. There is a small terrace with chairs and a table, so one can easily chill outside. Also, the living room is very comfortable. The staff in the tourist center are really nice.

Unfortunately, the bathroom and kitchen weren't really clean, I think it's because it's shared with other people, but more frequent cleaning would have been nice.
