Naaval Beach Villa & Rooms

Basically almost everything. The most decent owner I have encountered in Sri Lanka, he even tolerated me there up to the last moment even though he was closing the place for couple of days and I was the last guest to leave. He would arrange food or drinks, all brought asap. Location in Navalady is quite remote, but serene and beautiful.

Stray dogs on the beach, but that's obviously not the resort's fault, so for any people with phobia, please, have someone with you to go to the beach since the place is remote and dogs are running around freely.

This place is located outside from Batticaloa, on a small peninsula. There is a garden which you can sit in and relax in the morning or evenings. You can walk from the city, which we did, but its about 4-5km. The city is not super exciting anyway, so better stay at the beach, which is located just outside the entrance. If you want to be alone on sandy beaches with warm water the location is perfect. The host is very nice to both guests and animals, both stray and his domestic cats, dogs and a tiny frog(!) which is wonderful. He can also order a tuktuk if you need one, for reasonable price, aswell as his English is very good, so communication was easy. I would recommend getting the Sri Lankan breakfast which you pay extra for, it was good. In total, good value for the money.

Since the location is a bit outside town, there are few places to grab a snack or eat from. There is no kitchen as for now, however, when we visited there was an outdoor kitchen being built which is going to improve this place x1000, so you can cook some lunch or dinner. Also quite warm in the rooms without AC but for the price its expected.

It is a great place if you like quiet holidays. No crowds, no traffic on the road. Located just off the beach. Perfect spot for swimmers. Suresh is super friendly, nice and help you with all your needs. There’s no restaurant but breakfast can be arranged and food delivered from a nearby restaurant by Tuktuk driver. The rooms are very clean and cozy.
