Stonefield House

L'accueil, le déjeuner sur mesure, la chambre cosy et confortable, le calme absolu après 22h, la vue sur les montagnes.... Tout était parfait dans cet hôtel. De loin le meilleur après 10 jours en Ecosse, passés dans des établissements de qualité nettement inférieurs.

El sitio es perfecto, la casa se encuentra totalmente equipada y la habitación es preciosa. Está rodeado de naturaleza, es tranquilo y se encuentra cerca de la ciudad. Kresteen es maravillosa, nos hizo la estancia única ya que parecía un hogar. Tuvo unos detalles preciosos y la verdad que sin duda volveré a repetir en el mismo sitio. Muchas gracias por todo

It was not clear to us from the photos and descriptions that Stonefield House is a private home shared with the owner who lives on the ground floor, rather than a more traditional bed-and-breakfast setup. The 3 guest bedrooms are on the second floor and very close together in one corner so it's like a family set up. The breakfast and sitting area is right outside the bedrooms, and in the mornings the kitchen smells waft upstairs from the gound floor which is unpleasant. The photos online make the rooms look much larger than they are so we were surprised by the cramped space. Some of the towels were unraveling , and throw blanket at the foot of bed was pretty tatty looking. The entrance to the property was unkempt so at first we thought we were in the wrong place. Discarded construction materials and other items were strewn about the yard, it looked quite messy. Not a welcoming first impression, and at no time during our stay was any effort made to clean up the yard or entrance area. The host was polite and made an effort but it seemed clear that she was happy to usher you out of her house as quickly as possible.
