Guest House Ishitatu

Nice and clean hostel with a comfy beds and aircon. Manager was very helpful.

There was no wifi or cellphone reception at the hostel.

Mr Tanaka was exceptionally friendly and made our stay quite enjoyable. Its good value for money, but of course isn't as fancy as a more expensive hotel or guest house would be. The location to a nice beach was very good although its a steep walk up and down a hill or steps, overall good location though. If you are nice Mr Tanaka will be happy to help out where he can as well, ie getting a lift into town and possibly borowing is body board

As mentioned you get what you pay for. The place is not perfect but for myself and my partner we had a great time anyway. Be aware rural locations in Japan can be quite difficult. Everything requires cash and the buses stop running really early, so dont miss the last bus when heading into town. Also check prices of local bars when drinking there, they might surprise you. Also the local 7/11 took money to refill my suica but the next day the suica said it had no money in it. This may be an error with the Suica card though and maybe not the 7/11s fault. Just be careful about locals trying to squeeze extra money out of foreigners
