The Base Vegan Retreat Animal Sanctuary

We loved pretty much everything at this place. We had booked a cabin for 2 nights. It was more than what we expected. It had everything we needed for our stay and more, with attention to detail on every corner of the house. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. My daughter loved the rabbits and ducks. Bonus points for the board games, books, guitar, drinking hot water and woodfire box.

May be a bit more of lighting in kitchen area would help.

All good (ate elsewhere but available menu looked nice, would like to try whenever I stay again).

Not any great problem but wasn't sure how to speak to proprietors during one-night stay e.g., what's the drill checking out first thing. Able to catch someone in the morning though when they were attending to an ASDA van delivery.

Close to dining options and cinema at nearby retail park. Owner provided clear directions to the house.

Owners were very helpful. Lovely soya cream with the tea. Nicely decorated room. Our room was quite small but very well designed. Very comfortable bed and peaceful night. wonderful shower. Enough towels Tea and biscuits v nice. Animals nice to see in the garden area. Free parking. All round very nice vegan place but suitable for anyone. We Didn’t mind the ‘no animal products on site ‘ rule. We would return and perhaps stay in the outside lodge next time

The retreat was further from Bristol than we realised. £20 in an Uber but to be fair that’s reflected in the price, and it had parking and it was more peaceful than staying in centre. Hot tub overpriced (£85) in our opinion as it’s been much cheaper in other places we’ve stayed. £50 more reasonable.
