Lord Fraser Guest House

I particularly loved the state of preservation of the rich history which embodies the Guest House. The experience was like time travel back to one's proud South African childhood. Thank you for offering more than mere accommodation to travellers - we got a rare and unforgettable experience. And the fire! Sheer extacy in the cold, Wepener winter night. Thank you so very much.

Didn't have breakfast but chilled at the bar and the service was great.

The staff at Lord Fraser is so professional and warm. They make you to feel at home at all times. The breakfast was good on both days we really enjoyed it. Their sheets are always clean...when it come to hygiene, Lord Fraser takes their guest serious. The place is so spotless.

On the first night, upon arrival, we were informed that we would be relocated to another section of the guesthouse due to the main guesthouse being fully booked. However, when I made the booking online, I selected a room in the main guesthouse. The room where they moved us was not conducive, no privacy at all had to sleep in the same room with our daughter, not to mention the uncomfortable old bed, that made a terrible noise every time you turn, It needs to be replaced. On the second night, we were given a different room with a fan that was constantly on because the cord was broken and couldn't be turned off. I couldn't sleep the entire night. My husband ended up moving to the room where my daughter was sleeping, but it only had two single beds. I had to endure the cold as it was raining in the evening and the temperature dropped. This was so unfair considering the amount that we paid for two nights.

Every was extremely friendly and accommodating, everything was spotless and the food was really good.

Mosquitoes! And the bar was a little noisy, luckily we were in the building across from the Manor House so not too bad.
