The Studio Guesthouse

De ligging, de gastvrijheid en de hygiëne was uitstekend

Het unieke kader van de muziekstudio en de ligging waren fantastisch. Wij werden vriendelijk onthaald door gastheer Patrick en kregen een rondleiding in de studio. We maakten ook kennis met zijn vader Arnold Muhren, die ik eigenlijk maar pas in het Palingsound museum leerde kennen als basist van The Cats. Het ontbijt was ruim voldoende en had alle dagen wel iets anders lekkers. We waren niet gebonden aan een vast tijdstip voor het ontbijt omdat het netjes klaarstond in de koelkast, dat gaf een enorme vrijheid om eens wat langer te slapen. De ligging is ideaal, dicht bij de dijk en op een steenworp van het centrum van Volendam! Er is parking en je kan je fietsen veilig stallen.

De gepassioneerde uitleg over de studio. De vrijheid mbt het ontbijt, dit stond per kamer klaar en je kon het gebruiken als het jou uitkwam.

Beautiful, quiet location and a very nice and helpful host

A very comfortable room and a delicious and generous breakfast that we could enjoy at our leisure. It was a lovely 15 minute stroll into Volendam and a short walk to the bus stop for Amsterdam. Patrick was the perfect host - he gave us lots of useful info and restaurant recommendations and an interesting tour of his recording studio and then left us to enjoy our stay.

Patrick is a wonderful host and greeted the 6 of us to explain everything required during our 3 night stay. All 3 bedrooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Unique place to stay with a recording studio underneath which Patrick showed us. The accommodation has a lovely open plan kitchen - lounge/dining area. Breakfast is set for you each morning and you can have it at your own leisure. Eggs Bread Cakes Yoghurt Juice and various meats included. Location is about 10-15 min leisurely walk to Volendam. You can get a ferry return from Volendam to a beautiful little town - Markem island. Overall we all had a great time.

I had a wonderful 2-night stay at Patrick’s studio guesthouse! The space was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully designed—perfect for a relaxing getaway. Patrick was a fantastic host, responsive and welcoming, and made sure I had everything I needed. The guesthouse had all the essentials and more, with a comfortable bed, a well-equipped kitchenette, and a peaceful atmosphere. I especially appreciated the quiet neighborhood and the easy access to local spots. Would definitely stay here again—highly recommended!

Loved the hospitality of Patrick, the openness and the freedom offered with the self prepared breakfast (you can eat whenever you like from the former night to the next noon), as well as the coziness of the living room which we exploited at evenings. The room was super clean and really comfortable for rest.

It is not a fault of the property or the owner, but the location is not that suitable for Amsterdam tactical commutes with car, since the distance is around 30' of driving in country road mainly. Also the parking is super expensive in Amsterdam. You can of course move with the bus and metro, a choice that scared us due to the distance and scarcity of availability after midnight.
