Riverbend Berg Lodge

We really enjoyed the silent surrounding .Host was really welcoming .We will be back there .We will surely recommend this place to friends and families.

The property manager waited up to welcome us as we got there very late because of our transport. She welcomed us and was very friendly, constantly checked if we needed anything. Even sat with us for a bit before we left.

The size offered catered for our large group very easily. Very comfortable and well thought out.

The location was good and easy to get to. The lodge was very spacious with lots of seating areas. There were 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Could have done with one more bathroom upstairs.

Booking.com states that there are no parties. However, they did not mention that you can't make any noise all. This is completely impossible with a house full of people. The lodge manager was very rude and complained about the noise level at 19.50 on Saturday night . Apparently the neighbor threatened to call the police. We were not loud as went with family and small kids. It was the owners choice to run commercial establishment in a residential area. She also complained about the noise level of people playing pool(which you have to pay to use). This was also they choice to have the pool table on the property. Will definitely not go back and I have also discouraged any one that has asked me for a referral.

Great location, central, easy access to shops and tourist attractions. Accommodation was beautiful, comfortable, spacious, clean. Host was awesome. Swimming pool was fun and we all enjoyed the games room ☺️

The water and electricity cuts/throttling was a problem the entire weekend. We had children and elderly folks hence this was a major inconvenience however we were understading of the situation and tried to make the best of it. It's still a beautiful place and we will revisit, hopefully these issues will be sorted or contingency plans are put in place.

Location was safe..Spacious and suitable for family get-together Maria,the manager was very helpful.Maids were very pleasant.

Under-cover parking is limited to only 2 vehicles,whereas the complex states parking for 7 vehicles.Two vehicles were damaged by the hailstorm on Thursday, which would not have happened if there was undercover parking. Facilities such as darts and a few other board games should be catered for, and a TV should be installed in the common lounge.

The property is perfect for a large family or friend group. We stayed in the main house which has 7 bedrooms, 4 of them en-suite. There are multiple ‘chill’ / lounge areas so it meant we weren’t all crowded together constantly, and a huge garden perfect for cricket / soccer. There are stunning views of the mountains and a lovely pool and entertainment area with fire pit etc. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. It’s also well placed to venture either to northern berg area, or central berg. We explored both using the property as a base which was perfect. I highly recommend this property and will definitely be booking there again.

I did like the view

Fridges were not working properly. Stove was not working at all. No Dstv. Shortage of water and some bathrooms were not working. Only two bedrooms were working for 7 couples.
